I am nooo food blogger, obviously. There are plenty of amazing ones out there, and cooking has never been much of a passion of mine. Plus, do you know who my sister is?! Ms. Culinary School herself, Gabby? Yeah, so there’s really been no need for me to venture into her domain. I know my role.

Until tonight. Tonight I borrowed her totes adorable Anthropologie apron (because if I’m going to cook, I’m gonna look cute), put my blackberry down and made a super healthy, and yummy fritatta loaded with veggies for dinner. All by myself. My blog is just me…fashion, men, love, my pursuit of happiness and also, being healthy, which has become a huge part of my life as of late. I know how to drop weight fast, and subsequently feel like shit in the process. I could exist on coffee and a few almonds, but I’m choosing not to do it that way this time. I’m also working out so hard that my body needs food-but the right kinds. I’m so inspired/supported by blogs like 20somethingcupcakes, (blog/girl crush alert!) and of course everyone at In It To Gym It.

All the working out and eating right is definitely having physical affects, but I’m sleeping better, and you guys know I have the worst insomnia. My anxiety is decreasing rapidly. I have more energy during the day and a sense of control where I didn’t have it before. So while I might go on and on about getting bikini ready, and the photoshoot I have next week, and yay my jeans are baggy-at the end of the day, the mental and emotional reasons are the ones that keep me going.

Bethenny Frankel’s “Naturally Thin” Easy Impressive Frittata (The recipe shown is for 1 person-I was feeding 3, so I kept the egg to yolk ratio and added about 5 cups of veggies. The more the merrier!)
Cooking spray
1 cup vegetables (onions, spinach, zucchini, broccoli, or tomatoes)
1 egg yolk and 3 to 4 egg whites
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 tablespoon crumbled feta or grated Parmesan
Cooking Directions

Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray a small nonstick pan with an ovenproof handle with cooking spray.
Over medium heat, sauté the vegetables.
In a small bowl, whisk together the egg yolk and egg whites with a little salt and pepper.
Pour the egg mixture into the pan and move it around with a spatula until slightly solidified.
Transfer the pan to the oven.
Bake until the frittata is almost firm to the touch (approximately 15 to 20 minutes). Sprinkle with the cheese and bake until firm.
Serve immediately.

Don’t judge my pictures, ya’ll. Tasted way better than it looked, and it was Gabby approved. I’m just stoked I pushed myself to do something different, because chicken breast and broccoli every night was making me incredibly stab stab stabby. Don’t like eggs? Try something else!

A little weekend re-cap, L.A Style…I feel like I played tourist in my own backyard this weekend which is kinda fun…Let’s bullet point this ish.

Friday night-Dinner and cocktails with Jessica. Good girl talk. It was nice to hang out with someone who is at the exact same place in life as me-”technically” single, career minded and just kinda going with the flow. It was super fun and badly needed. I wasn’t having a very photogenic evening…I looked like casper next to Jess! Whatev, can’t win em all! Speaking OF…COME ON LAKERS! Boo. Ok. Moving on…

Then the boy came to meet up with us, and surprised me with a bottle of the rare vino we’d loved when we had dinner inside Disneyland a few weeks ago. Aw. Points!

SATURDAY! Intended to sit on my bum, read blogs and watch T.V until getting ready for our dinner date but he surprised me again with…let’s go to the Getty! Ok, I know it was a Saturday in L.A but the traffic was particularly more heinous than usual…and the Getty was so crowded. Like typical L.A folk, we hate crowds and tourists, so pass.

On to Griffith Park, because why would that be crowded too? Ha, yeah…basically we would have had to park in Downtown L.A and hike all the way up, and I was wearing heels of course…but it was pretty driving up in the hills, listening to good music.

Well. We tried. New plan…DRINKS! Tapas and sangria at the coolest, most authentic lil Spanish bar on Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica. I highly recommend Bar Pintxo. Bacon wrapped dates stuffed with Spanish cheese? Yum! Third street is a fun place to walk around and see some amazing, and some not so amazing street performers too.

Then we went to see 2012. I hadn’t heard of this movie because the action/adventure/end of the world genre is notsamuch my thing, but it was really good! Completely unrealistic and cheesy, but John Cusack can really do no wrong in my eyes and it seemed kinda fitting to see a typical Hollywood blockbuster after spending the day playing tourist in L.A.

Do ya’ll like my new blog design?! I LOVE IT! I wanted something so fresh and so clean clean…and my girl crush Annemarie from Brunch at Saks did an ahhhmazing job!! I know my blog is a bit different-ya never know what you’re gonna get-I mean, a BIG hair how-to turned into a cry for help on redemption, and you guys ALWAYS have my back. To quote Meg Ryan in You’ve Got Mail-

“The odd thing about this form of communication is that you’re more likely to talk about nothing than something. But I just want to say that all this nothing has meant more to me than so many somethings.”

I’m in the process of responding to every amazing comment and email because you put yourselves out there for me, and it’s not going unnoticed. I’m the meantime, some of my very favorite bloggers and friends have come to the rescue in their fabulous Louboutins and such!

First of all, I want to thank Liz for giving me the opportunity to do a guest post on It’s Unbeweavable! I’m a huge fan of her blog, and am excited about her future move to New York, my home sweet home for over ten years now… Some of you may already call New York home, many of you have visited, and most of you have seen pop culture depictions of New York City. For my guest post, I thought I would highlight ten misconceptions about the city and its fabulous residents. Life in New York for me is definitely NOT like a Woody Allen movie, nor an episode of Sex and the City or Real Housewives of New York! And thank goodness, too…

(1) Attending Fashion Week is kind of a cattle call. What was once a trade only event, has turned into a media, celebrity-infested circus. And those of you who have attended shows in the past know that part of the awful part of being standing room only at a fashion show means waiting around for an hour or more to be admitted for a show that’s maybe 15 minutes tops. The best part of Fashion Week, in my humble opinion, are the afterparties; at least you can drink at afterparties!

(2) New York City is a whole lot more than Manhattan. The city is a collection of five unique boroughs, including The Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens and Staten Island. Miranda may bemoan her fate as a Brooklyn resident in Sex and the City movie, but real New Yorkers live everywhere, and I love hanging with my friends in all five boroughs! Brooklyn, by the way, has some super tony neighborhoods that my Mr. and I could never afford…

Even though I am seriously addicted to taking cabs after a late night out, I rely on subways and buses to take me around town, especially during peak traffic times. Public transportation is the great equalizer in the city. Heck, even the Mayor takes the subway now and then!

Now at dinner parties, I might complain about a lot of things related to New York, but really, it’s my coded way of saying I wouldn’t live anywhere else…(6) Despite working hard and playing hard in New York, we find a lot of time for trashy TV, even shows that revolve around fictional depictions of New York, such as Gossip Girl, NYC Prep and Real Housewives of New York. Yes, you may be moving to the city from a suburb where stores like Home Depot and Bed Bath and Beyond rule strip malls. But, since stores like that have invaded the city, people have been wondering how they lived without them in the first place. Sometimes I like going to a store like Bed Bath and Beyond to wander the aisles when I feel homesick about my Southern California suburban life. I think a lot of people must feel the same way, as you can glimpse people with blissed out expressions on their faces at these stores.

We stop and help out with directions when we’re not in a rush. We open doors for people. When riding the subway, we offer up a seat to the elderly. When things get lost in cabs or in public places, we often contact the owner and find a way to return them to the owner. I’ve had two instances of strangers returning a lost wallet from a cab.
