Basically…it all comes down to simple math. Oh, you thought this was just a “fashion/single girl in the city” blog? No way…we do math here, yo.

She, yes SHE has been on reserve for the Fall, a nice pop of color since I heart the black and grays! I seriously want to wear any of these outfits TOMORROW…and get a HOT Pumpkin Spice Latte from Starbucks instead of an iced situation…le sigh.

Bella of VINTAGE LOLLIPOPS!!!!

Hey Luvers…

This is the first time I’ve done an interview of sorts with another blogger on It’s Unbeweavable…and I’m super excited! I’m still getting back on track with my personal nonsense, so again, blogger buddy to the rescue! Bella at VINTAGE LOLLIPOPS is not only an effing amazing friend, she’s one of my style inspirations. I like to hope if I did lookbook posts (which I’m considering…thoughts?) that they would look as badass as hers. I ADORE her…ever since I started my blog I have been drawn to her, not only because we share the same style, although she takes the badass cake in my opinion, but her writings are witty, humorous and let’s just say we share the same twisted/fabulous sense o’humor. She was kind enough to answer some of my questions, so you’ll see what I’m talking about…and I pulled a few of my favorite images…but you really need to go to her blog to check them all out. Define your personal style:
I never limit myself to one static approach because my penchant towards the art of style varies on a day-to-day basisâ€¦ itâ€™s always evolving. When it comes to styling, accessorizing, and experimenting with silhouettes, I love incorporating fashion flashbacks and irresistible vintage into my existing wardrobe, while maintaining those ever-versatile key pieces. Right now, Iâ€™m definitely craving sharp shoulders, bell-bottoms, whimsical bohemian, and minimalistic designs, but that could change come tomorrow. In the end, itâ€™s really about confidence.

Style inspirations:
As a writer, inspiration is vitalâ€¦ and whether Iâ€™m knee-deep in my creative voice, perusing my favorite blogs, flipping through magazines, praising the runway, or delving into a great piece of literature, Iâ€™m always hunting and fishing for another muse to rouse the senses.
5 things you could not live without:
Aaaahhhh, this must be a trick questionâ€¦ okay, screw it, five things. Forget air, money, food, Prozac (just kidding), water, and coffee-my lifeblood! How about…

A little bit of daily chaos, love/lust/sex/kissing, writing, learning from my mistakes, and since this isnâ€™t Little House on the Prairie, definitely technology.
How do you stay true to yourself throughout fads and trends?
I often lean towards trends/fads and potential DIY projects that have a diverse voice, while spotlighting the lines, fit, and fluidity of movement. Slightly moodier pieces and unique elements that make an effortless statement without being fussy or overdone are the perfect addition to my wardrobe. And in terms of trendsetting, I truly believe in the importance of individualizing yourself from others, because that which makes us different makes us unforgettable.

Who would play you in a movie based on your life?
Meagan Fox, or so Iâ€™m told.

How do get your hair so unbeweavably badass?
(Laughing) Because Iâ€™m a product-junkie who religiously takes her vitamins.
What do you do when youâ€™re a bit down in the dumps? What cheers you up?
Essentially, whatever it takes to get happy is probably worth the peace of mind. But anytime Iâ€™m visiting that dreaded melancholic purgatory, I usually throw on my favorite/totally trashed Jimi Hendrix t-shirt, light some candles, walk through the Zen garden, Sangria helps, silently weep and kick butt on the treadmill, drown my sorrows in new platforms, and convince myself that tomorrow will be brighter. And sometimes, when no oneâ€™s looking, Iâ€™ll eat a cookie.

Ummm…badass girl crush! Beautiful inside and out! I need some Sangria and a cookie…Ohhh and some new platforms…

Answers-BIG HAIR (And my Winner!)

FRIDAY! An Unbeweavable day, if I do say so myself over here at my little place o’ the internets. Sorry for the delay…but without further adieu…how I get my hair SO BIG!!! Please note-I’ve been reading some comments-I don’t do this everyday, but when I do it takes under an hour.

(I’m keeping my own face off le blog for a lil due to recent events which sucks for this post, sorry loves. But I found some big badass hair for you anyway!)

What I Use…

#1 and #2- Pureology Pure Volume Shampoo and Conditioner. Since I have extensions, I have to use Pureology, which I love but the price blows. Herbal Essences makes a great one I used before I got my weave did, yo. What I do love about Pureology is that while some other volumizing products rough up the cuticle to add volume and that can result in frizz-Pureology is still uber moisturizing and pumps up the cuticle with all natural, vegan ingredients.

#3 Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray. I know, right? I put this on my wet hair and kind of scrunch it in gently. Gently, because I want BIG but not FRO, you dig?

#4 Frederic Fekkai All Day Hair Plump Ok…I love this. I originally got a sample from Sephora and was hooked. The price tag kind of sucks-but mix it with the Surf Spray on wet hair and VA-VA-VOOM! Again, it’s super conditioning so your big hair will be soft! I use this OR the fantabulous Moroccanoil that I’ve blogged about here.#5 Ok…products in. Now it’s time to blowdry. I use a big round brush and work in the OPPOSITE direction my hair lies, kind of stretching my hair against my head as I go. In addition to the opposite direction thing, I turn my head upside down and go to town until it’s still damp, and then smooth with a paddle brush. GOAL-to look like you got electrocuted at this point.

#6 and #7 I will curl my hair with my flat iron as seen here when I want smooth on top but pretty princess curls at the bottom, however when I want BIG HAIR, I use velcro rollers and bobby pins. (I use pins because I have so much hair that the rollers tend to fall.) OR I make my own curls and pin minus the rollers. I spray each section of hair HEAVILY before I pin it. I’m used to sleeping on them which really works the best. If you can’t, finish blow drying on low and spray like crazy.

#8,9,10…John Freida Frizz-Ease Moisture Barrier Firm Hold Hairspray . Because I still LOVE it. Big hair requires lots of hairspray. So find one that you love. I love the price on this and it is NEVER crunchy, ew hate that, right?

So…wake up/stop blow drying and let each curl out. This is the IMPORTANT PART. Turn your head upside down and gently comb through at the roots with your fingers. Do NOT brush. Shake it, tousle it, but if you brush it=frizz it. And then….a little shine serum of your choice to detangle…spray again, and toss around all day.

Hey Dolls!

I’m excited for a new week! I’m healthy and hopefully kicking booty at my interview-I was lucky to get a chance to go in today at 12! Cross your fingers! Third times the charm, right?

What better way for me to toss this week off to an Unbeweavable start…my UNBEWEAVABLE hair post! (Part 1) More than half of the questions you asked were about my hair, so I’m going to break them up into a few posts because you came here to read a blog, not a novel.

Part 1-EXTENSIONS

As the story has been told-the day the below picture was taken inspired the name of my blog.

BFF Istvan declared two things-

“When in doubt, track it out!” and “You’re Unbeweavable!” Both of which had me laughing and then lightbulb moment-BLOG name born!

Two of my favorites asked me specifically about extensions…Tiffany at I Am Style-ish, and E at District of Chic. (Sidenote-you must go check out their blogs, I love them somethin fierce!)

Are extensions hard to maintain and how long do they last? and What can I NOT do with them?

Extensions are not hard to maintain, although they ARE a commitment just like anything else! Before touching your pretty little head, your stylist should go over the maintenance extensions will require. (I know this won’t interest everyone, and pardon my mug being all over this post, but I figured you should see my hair since I’m talking about it.)

Brusha brusha brusha-I had to learn to brush differently, but it doesn’t take any longer and has become second nature. But I’d REALLY have to brush like a psycho to rip them out, they aren’t going anywhere. Same goes for washing, you learn to do it a bit differently, YES you can wash your hair til you’re blue in face if you want to!

How long do they last?

I first got mine in October…had them “moved up” in February, and just had them removed and completely re-done with new hair last month. So-9 months! Not bad, right-when you consider I had to do absolutely nothing to my hair during that time-no cuts, color, nothing…FYI-When I had them completely removed-my real hair was healthier and longer than it has EVER BEEN. So I want to calm any fears that all your real hair will be ripped out-quite the opposite if you have them done correctly.

What Can’t I do?

There isn’t one thing I can’t do because I have a weave! I blowdry, I flat iron, go swimming. I even dyed them dark on my own the day I broke up with my ex haha. Below after the transformation to the dark side, where I am now…funny side-note-want to know what I’m gazing at so lustfully over to the side? A hot Laguna surfer? NO. My sister holding a water bottle full of wine. Klassy. I guess I was thirsty? Anywhooo…

A Few Things...

Price doesn’t always equal quality when it comes to extensions. Where I go in Newport Beach, CA, my stylist does celebrities, I am in love with my results and yet her prices are far more reasonable than other’s I’d had consultations with. The ONLY reason I am dropping the celeb thing is to prove that proper extensions can be affordable. If you have questions about price/methods-don’t hesitate to email me. Let me just say-it should be way under $1000 for a full head, including the highest quality hair. WAY. I really can’t stress that enough!

-Have consultations! 20 if you have to! Ask to see before and after pictures, see if there are clients you can talk to for a referral. There are some jacked up salons and stylists out there-and I don’t want any of my girls looking like Britney at the MTV awards, mmkay? So take your time, don’t go to the first yahoo you see on Craigslist cuz she’s cheap and never feel pressured! Here is my own before and after…see how she matched my already highlighted hair perfectly? Amazing.

To wrap this up, I want to say that personally I would go without new shoes or bags for months to afford my extensions if it came to that. Or I’d live in a cardboard box with great hair, rent isn’t important! OH where’s that douche to call me materialistic and self involved when I need him? Haha…but seriously, I was lucky to have them done RIGHT the first time, and I’m truly in love with the results.

Only gets a little tricky when you’re making out in a car and the.hottest.guy.ever’s hands are all up in your weave…but that’s another story. Of course there are other options that aren’t so permanent and costly that can be fabulous too! So take your time, consider your options and don’t hesitate to ask me any questions! Sorry if this post didn’t appeal to everyone, but lot’s of readers have asked for it since I started le blog!

Happy Thursday!

Last night a friend was giddy with excitement-she scored an original Audrey Kawasaki print. I am so jealous! Her prints are never available-she has sporadic secret online sales that last an hour only, and they go faster then Loubies on Gilt. Here are a few of my favorite paintings…I will get one darn it!! If you can’t tell…I have total hair envy here, too! The girls in her paintings are so gorgeous! Unbeweavable!
