Thank you so much to my darling Summer for her post. I L-O-V-E-D it and I think it was exactly what so many of us needed.

I live in lala-land, and today I want to live there figuratively as well. So indulge me, will you? I always keep it real, I always pour my heart and soul out all over my blog, and I just can’t today.

Do you ever wish life was like a movie? With expert editing, a happy ending and a fierce soundtrack? Oh, and a WARDROBE DEPARTMENT?

Who would play you in that movie? I assaulted some of my closest friends whom you may know with this question this evening. Like literally attacked them. They played along. Note-I didn’t include anyone I couldn’t ask…I know this is a touchy question, so Sum and Klaw, etc you got lucky! ALSO NOTE-I do not wish that myself or any of these loves are anyone other than themselves. We are cooler anyway lol. But life is a little too realistic today, so we’re playing.

If I had a dollar for every time I was likened to Liv Tyler, I’d have umm…twenty dollars. hahaha…I think it’s the lips.

My Badass Christmas List!

Hey Santa,

I don’t know what got into me tonight! I’m pretty sure some of the things on this list will put me on a one way train to Naughtyville, but Santa, trust when I say this is the innocent version. And I’m really nice usually, and say BADASS in a loving, warm fuzzy kinda way. Anyways, here is my Badass Christmas list…some things I need, some things I love and some things that are just pure badassery.

Fragrances are always on my Christmas/Birthday lists, they’re easy and people can’t go wrong. Gucci Rush is my favorite for Badass evenings…sexy and I’ve never met a guy who didn’t like it. One of my favorite badass makeup tricks is to heavily line the inner bottom rim with black liner. You need a really good pencil for this, and I’ve been on the lookout for a new one. So, I asked bff/makeup artist/all knowing beauty product whore Istvan and it was settled. Armani Smooth Silk Eye Pencil in #4-Black.
Oh I know. STOP WITH THE COLD PLASMA, right? Well, loves…I can’t. Stuff is GOOD. I’ve been having lot’s of late nights and the guy I’m currently making out with has sexy scruff so my skin should be all messed up, but since I started using this lil bit of magic in a jar not so much. I’m Rich

Lately, I’ve been feeling stressed about money. Starting my own company has been a rewarding, yet humbling experience. Even writing that, admitting to the world that I am stressed about money is humbling. It’s hard, I’m not used to it. I have the freedom, but I don’t have the security of a nice paycheck direct deposited in my account every two weeks without fail.

I have to be honest. It’s been stressing me out, causing my anxiety to soar, for me to shut down and be a ball of worry. Not cute. Not happy. Not thankful.

I wasn’t going to post today but in reading so many of your wonderful Thankful lists and Gratitude posts, I got a reality check.

I feel that as bloggers, as fashion bloggers as so many of us are, sometimes we loose ourselves in the next big purchase, the shoes she has that we need now, etc. I am only speaking for myself here that I have felt the pressure to keep up…never before have I had hundreds of people caring about the contents of my closet.

Fashion is my passion. It’s what I do. Straight outta high school to FIDM to working in the industry. It is separate from shopping and keeping up with the joneses. I’m not saying I won’t be shopping, or won’t be buying a new pair of Loubies, that I won’t be filling up this blog with Balmain or things I DIE over anymore. OF COURSE I WILL, duh! But…

Today…I am thankful for what I have. I am thankful that I have my family, my best friends who catch me when I am falling, a little dog who brings me a toy every time I walk in the door, a roof over my head, a car, food, that I never go without. I am thankful I am loved, and that I love, deeply. I am thankful that Black Label Media Group might be small now, but it’s going to be HUGE. I am thankful that my heart is mending, and that I have some great and sexy (ohh wee) options on the table. I am thankful I have some great hair. I am thankful for Gabby, best wombmate ever. I am thankful for wine. I am thankful for my health. I am thankful for the opportunities I have and my bright future. I am also extremely thankful for peanut M&M’s. Just sayin.

I am very thankful that you are here. I started this blog almost a year ago, never expecting any of well…this. I hope that I have touched your lives as much as you have touched mine and we can continue to support each other on our journeys.

I am rich, in the best way ever.

On Friendship.

I was on a conference call last week, and it turned into a complete mess, as most conf calls do. One girl, on the East coast who I’ve never met but have developed a rapport with via phone and email, kept trying to say something valid but nobody would listen. Finally she was able to break through the bitching, moaning and blame game to say, “I know this won’t change anything, but I need to be heard. I need to say this.” And went on to make her point.

I called her after the meeting as she is my ally these days, and she said “Liz, I know they weren’t listening to me. I’m sure it went in one ear out the other. But for my own sanity, I had to say it. I had to know that I said it. I need to be heard.”

I need to be heard.

Girlfriends. Le sigh, right? So many blogs on the subject, I know. I’ve posted about it before and I adore this post by my friend Brown Girl, as well.

{This post isn’t about the Blair to my Serena, just clarifying so ya’ll don’t have to google it. We’re solid.}

I’m hesitant to write about this at all, I don’t want to come off heartless, cold or like I do no wrong because I do. I am not the perfect friend, let’s just get this out of the way…honestly…

I’ve been called stuck up and a bitch by girls who haven’t spoken one word to me. This scares me into not wanting to try. I am moody, flighty and at times, my mind changes at the last minute. My life is so crazy and complicated that often I don’t let potential friends all the way in because it’s hard to know who to trust, and frankly, sometimes I can’t worry about letting down one.more.person. I come off snobby when I don’t mean to at all because I get very quiet if I’m uncomfortable or out of my element. I might make plans with you because I really do want to see you, but have to cancel because of above said crazy life, or because I just need to sit in my room and decompress and I’m afraid to tell you all the crazy going on in my head. Sometimes I forget to write thank you cards. I am too hard on myself and sometimes that means I can be too hard on my friends. I’m working on all these things, and I appreciate the girls in my life who make me want to be a better friend, you know who you are.But, if you need to talk, you better call me! When you’re really sick, I will pray and rally my troops and get a whole heck of a lotta people praying for you. If you’re in the hospital, I will want to be by your side. Wild horses couldn’t keep me away. I will stay up all night with you talking, I will hate the guy who hurt your heart, call him names and cry with you. I will tell you what shoes you should wear and yes, of course duh, you can borrow mine and sure, I’ll do your makeup before your date! If you need a place to stay, you’ve got one. I will tell you highly inappropriate jokes to make you laugh when you’re upset. If you live across the country, I’ll buy a plane ticket simply because I want to sit on the couch with you and watch Curb, because I love you. I’ll support your decisions, celebrate your achievements, encourage your dreams, sympathize with your pms, remind you of your worth should you forget, be in your wedding, do the makeup for your wedding, and so on and so forth… Meaning…once you’re in my heart, you’re in. Super glued, cemented, and I do the best I can.

This weekend, I was hurt by a very good friend. Or so I thought she was. I don’t want to slander her publicly because she’s doing it enough to herself and I feel more pity for her than anything else but…I NEED TO BE HEARD. I feel conned, used, taken for granted and sad. Angry? Latina fury? Hell yes. But sad because I trusted her, she was in my heart…and I just don’t understand. Life happens, people aren’t who they seem and I hope she gets the help that she so desperately needs. There are no excuses for the way she treated me…and until she owns up to that, I can’t have her in my life. And it hurts to write that, and mean it.

Dress You Up In My Love…

Happy Monday! In my head, that sounded totally sarcastic so just in case it didn’t translate-TOTALLY SARCASTIC. But anyway! The project I’m working on requires me to go into an office (I’m sure I’m getting blank stares from most of you…as you read this from your offices), and last week I was bored out of my mind with my outfits! Therefore, no lookbooks…yet. I love dresses…they’re so easy to throw on, and Hanako, Kelly and Maegan inspire me with the dresses they wear to work. I have to admit though, that dresses are one retail sector that kind of intimidate me, especially when it comes to the workplace. I can wear whatever the heck I want, one of the perks of working in a creative industry, however…if you have boobs or curves like me-lots of dresses can go from cute to skank in 2.5 secs…not professional at all. Below are dresses I would wear to work that won’t break the bank (I despise spending a fortune on work clothes, let’s save that for the Loubies kthxbai.)

Really Random Ramblings…

Happy Friday!!!!
I’m so tired ya’ll. I don’t know when this “ya’ll” business started…I do actually say it sometimes when I’m speaking and it’s just all kinds of weird because it doesn’t fit in with my LA/OC /Liz-speak. But I totally digress. This week has been CRAZY busy and I can’t believe it’s the weekend already…soooo…Random updates?

I like guys who take me on dates to Disneyland at night as a surprise. And bring me stuffed monkeys and order bottles of wine.
Tonight, said guy is taking me to my first NHL game! So excited! I am on the hunt for the perfect hockey game outfit. I think this is a fabulous excuse to buy boots today. I need brown ones…Tulip by Jessica Simpson via Nordstrom. Hmm….
I am not dressing up for Halloween*….Don’t hate me, dolls…I didn’t go to a pumpkin patch this year either (which is totes popular around the blogosphere, who knew?), so color me an October epic fail. BUT I am spending Halloween on Hanako66′s couch, and that makes me happy. Love. That. Girl.
Recently I have become super close with my cousin, J. I adore this dude, and I’m so glad that we’ve formed such a tight bond. Nothing like family. So to prove that I DO have some kind of Halloweeny spirit, here we are…with scuurrryy red eyes.

The Taylor Hair adventure. This is going to be very, very essssspensive, Lucy…but I need it done right, so I’m taking a little time to find the right person. Stay tuned…It’s still happening, just don’t wanna go bald or broke.

Two Hundred…And I Care.

I once read one of those blog posts that listed blogging rules for newbies, blog etiquette if you will, and while most I agreed with-linking back, plagiarism sucks, give props where props are due, etc…one faux pas was “do not announce when you’ve hit 100 posts. Or 200. Or 300.

Nobody cares.”

Well. Lucky for me I am a natural born rule breaker…

It’s my 200th post, and I CARE. I’m even “announcing it” right here. Right now. Ohhh bloggy police, come get me. I’m pretty sure you don’t want to mess with this Latina fury though.

I can’t think of anything I’ve made a conscious decision to do 200 times that I don’t have to. Besides fashion, when pressed, I don’t really have any “hobbies.” There are tons of things I LOVE to do…but not over and over, every day. Is drinking sangria and texting a hobby? Especially when done simultaneously? Because I kinda excel at that, srsly, but I digress. I used to dance, but once you hit your twenties that kind of ends, unless you embark upon career that involves a pole and 8 inch Lucite heels. (No judgement. I’m just sayin.)

In 200 posts, I have built something that I’m proud of. Something that is as much a part of me as my right arm. 200 times I have sat down and wanted to share a part of myself with you, the good, bad and the ugly. Fashion, hair, anxiety, eyeliner, heartbreak. And more than 2,000 times I have sat down and read your blogs, because you were brave enough to share a part of yourself with me.

In 200 posts, I’ve made friendships that blow my mind. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting some of you face to face, some of us have plans, and some of you I MIGHT never meet…and that’s ok KEL because you send me Unbeweavable shit like this at 12am.

In 200 posts, my life has been touched by each and everyone of you, real life or virtually, 2D or 3D.

Thank you, Dollfaces. I’m so blessed you’re here. Things are only getting bigger and better, and I can’t imagine it without each and everyone of you.
