I’ve received a lot of requests for my work out playlist and I’ve been hesitant to share only because the songs I listen to while working out are a bit umm…aggressive. What can I say, hip hop gets me MOVING. These songs are not what I’m always listenting to in the car, while working, dancing around my house, etc.  But they are what get me in the zone at the gym…and if truth be told, yes occasionally dancing/singing on the treadmill.  They might not be your thing, so tell me what works for you!  Gotta have fun, right?

Oh and heck yes, that’s a completely shameless picture. If anyone had ever told me I’d be running 7 miles for FUN on a Sat morning 8 months ago I would have never believed it…You can do ANYTHING you put your mind too…but I digress. I think I’m more in awe that I wore booty shorts to the gym and felt so confident…hmmm whatever…MUSIC TIME!

How’s that for the WORST POST TITLE EVER. Whatever. Where to begin…I don’t know. Also, the spacing is hella jacked up in this post-I don’t know why and to be completely honest, mama doesn’t care.

Kings Of Leon was amazing! It was THE perfect summer night-just one of those nights where everything comes together, and you’re sitting on a hill with a dear friend, drinking a beer and thinking, yaknow, yeah despite all of it’s ups and downs and stresses-my life is pretty fucking fabulous and so are the people in it. Kathleen wrote an amazing post about our few days together, and there’s even some video of KOL (and her singing along!)

Some of you know that I’m obsessed with rompers this summer. As in, hi I’m Liz, and I have a romper problem. I can’t help it! SO COMFORTABLE!! My sister calls them “adult one-sies” and some people say they’re hard to get in and out of, but not if you get strapless ones! You’re totally fine. Mommy, WOW. I’m a big girl now. Just pull it down…Next up-VEGAS! Allow the pictures to do most of the talking…ROAD TRIP!

Hot as HELL. It hit 133 and I almost had a panic attack.

My Wolf Pack/BFF. We cooled off and (drank) re-charged at Pink Taco.Fine. We smiled.

Then it was time to rock out…I take this very seriously.

MxPx has been around for awhile, and it was crazy to hear songs I used to listen to when I was 15. It was also crazy that I wore 6 inch heels to a punk show, but I am who I am.  It was a special show because their drummer is retiring, and so it was his retirement party of sorts…they played for almost THREE HOURS. My bff was in heaven, I was doing pretty good until 2 hours in and then I wanted to cut my feet off.  But I sucked it up and took out my anger on the douchelord in front of me who kept leaning back a little too much for my liking. He got my clutch to his ribs a few times. Bwahahaaa…Colombian fury.

Back to the real world-July, you’ve officially kicked my ass. Well played.

Hi…sorry for the “language.” But I kind of had to, considering the week I have in front of me! But first-HAIII DOLLS. It’s so effing late right now, I just ran 6 miles, super hyper and I was like, wow maybe I should blog-it’s only been 3 weeks. Sorry. Life and the pursuit of happiness have cut into my internet time. But that’s another story…

Anyways, what’s up with you?  If we’re twitter friends, AMEN. If not, GET THEE ON TWITTER. I want to know what’s going on, what you had for lunch, ya know, the usual twitter nonsense. I’m not sure if anyone even reads this blog anymore, but what the hell. I’m so excited I had to share! The emo-weavable girl smiles!

This week couldn’t be more amazing.  I am so ready to rock out with my umm…something out. Sooo Tuesday my lovebug Kathleen is coming from Vegas for a 2 night sleepover because Wednesday we’re going to see The Kings Of Leon and it’s going to be straight up amazing.Your Sex Is On Fire. And my my so are my panties. If you need to Use Somebody, I’m totes available. OK I’M DONE.

So yeah, 3 days with one of my besties, watching the Hills, skyping with Oughta (her blog is private. boo for you), girl talk, laying out (GET IT TOGETHER CALI WEATHER I HATE YOU AND EARTHQUAKES STOP IT), and KOL on a summer night. LOVES.

THEN! I have 2 days to recover because on Sunday I’m off to VEGAS! Where I get to see Kathleen again! WHAT THE AMAZING BUGLOVE. I know. My best friend of the penis variety/personal trainer DAN (Haiii Dan) is the biggest MxPx fan like ever.  They’re playing a once in a lifetime show at the Hard Rock Sunday night, and guess who he’s dragging with…me.  Punk show here I come.  Keep me out of the mosh pit, but don’t mind if I do bump into a few full sleeved skater boy hotties. Just sayin.Fine. Take me to Vegas. Twist my arm. I’m SUCH A GOOD FRIEND.  I hope the fans look like righty. Gonna get me a wolf pack…

Currently Thinking About-Karma. I’m no Karma expert, but I keep thinking about that passage in Eat, Pray, Love where it says that once your Karma is “paid back”, you need to let it go.  I hold onto things and feel bad about them forever, but I’m currently letting things go and it feels amazing.  If the other person can’t…it’s really not my problem anymore, you know?

Can I Be Completely Transparent? I’m CURRENTLY feeling like I just got punched in the gut. As I’m writing this post, I got some yucky news.  Nothing huge…just enough to make me feel shitty for a hot minute and yes, I’m holding back some tears.  So here’s what I’m going to do.  I’m going to feel this. I’m going to vent a little. And then I’m going to take a deep breath and move on and remember I can’t control people and their actions.  Also? When Steven kicks my ass this afternoon, I’ll take my anger out on him.  Pretty sure he can take it.

I love Spring! March is one big fat sigh of relief in general.  November to February is so fun, but a wee exhausting, no?  I almost feel like this is when my real new year starts.  I woke up super happy today, after a particularly rough weekend.  I have so much to look forward to…here’s a little peek into my Spring/Summer.

I’ve had this other post sitting in my drafts for over a week now. I don’t usually write like that. I may put something on hold for a minute but I usually just explode all over my blog. I like it that way. I have feelings, I find my words and share them, release them. But this post wasn’t flowing, it wasn’t “Liz”…I was trying to write about my first Christmas as a Single Girl, and how emo I am about it, and depressed and boohoo. But it’s boring even me, because…maybe I’m not that sad?! I’m over it.

We have lot’s of new people around here, hi, I adore you! Lot’s of you have been on my journey with me though. Quick refresher-started a blog. Had a douchebag boyfriend. Cutesy, lovey, picture-filled posts of our dates. I was totes a “couple” blogger. If you really want to see them, they’re still there. Broke up. Badly. Since then, it’s been up’s and downs, redemption and forgiveness, good dates and bad dates, online dating, decisions not to date and learning to love myself. I wrote my “single love story” here.

Everything is so magnified this time of year. “I’m Single” becomes “OH MY GOD I’M SINGLE NOBODY LOVES ME I THINK I’LL CRY ABOUT IT, THERE WILL BE NO CHRISTMAS THIS YEAR BECAUSE I’M SINGLE.” Well. Here’s the thing, yo. I’m not crying anymore! I’m chilling the eff out. Is it a little bit lonely and do I have memories and flashbacks of holidays past with someone I love? Of course I do! But I am D-O-N-E being all sad. I’m at a new place in my life, on my journey. If I meet a nice Texan boy and end up needing an Austin Divorce Lawyer, so be it. I’m dating a few guys, not blogging about them because A. not sure how to do so without sounding a wee bit skanky and 2. they aren’t worthy of my lovelies just yet. I also don’t think HE resides on the West Coast. So I’m just having myself a good old time for now, because I Just Haven’t Met Him Yet. This is my new anthem. Heard it in the car the other day, and it flipped a switch. Emo off…I JUST HAVEN’T MET YOU YET on! (Best.Song.Ever.)

It’s going to be different. But you know, today I was reminded of something. I do have a really special guy in my life. A guy who has never let me down, who I love more than anyone in the entire world. A guy who, when I think about why I am not settling, comes to mind. He has set the bar high by being a shining example of what a man should be…how he loved my Nana is how I want to be be loved one day. He is my favorite person in the Universe. He has been there for Gabby and I everyday of our lives.

My grandpa. Papa. I am getting a little bit choked up writing this-ok, a lot a bit…see, he’s 85. And I don’t like that one bit. He’s also getting a little forgetful. I really don’t like that. It scares me. This man is SO loved, and my heart will shatter into a billion pieces when I don’t get to hug him on Christmas Day. This year, again…I do. I’m the luckiest girl in the world. It’s going to be a Merry Christmas.

Someone told me- Liz, this year, your family and friends get 100% of you. They don’t have to share you with a guy and his family, so be present with them. And that’s exactly what I’m going to do. I know exactly what my Papa would tell me if he knew I was upset about being single this year…

I wish I could stay in bed all day. I wonder if that would make me feel better.
I wish I could take a vacation from my mind. The darn thing won’t turn off.
Maybe I should just wear a cool hat and stare off into space with the perfect back lighting. Note to self-get a cute off the shoulder top for moments like this.
Perhaps I should blast some Slayer old school style to drown out my thoughts.

Don’t judge me. I dated a skater who turned me onto Slayer. Pretty sure I’ve done worse things than listen to them, so don’t tell me I’m going to hell. I got the memo.
Or hunt down these girls and make them be my new friends! Judging from footwear and accessories alone, I’m pretty sure we’d be besties and they would do me no wrong! Plus forced friendship is not creepy at all, right?

Sorry for the mood, dolls. I just don’t understand people and my life would probably be easier if I just gave up trying. Frenemys. Girls who are so bout it bout it when I’m UP TO HERE with le perks and fabulousness and the free shit and the V.I.P, but vanish when I’m down (in their eyes)…since they can’t use me anymore, poof, they’re gone. Vultures. Jealous biatches who leave you when you need them most and are secretly (or not so secretly) happy when you fall. I do a ton of things that aren’t perfect, but I won’t ever leave you hanging and I’ll never be happy when your life gets rough for a minute, no matter what you have that I don’t. Basically- I’m just sick of being the 3am phone call when I can’t even get a 3pm phone call.
