Most of February had me looking like this. Sick as all hell.  Pouting.  Bored.  Taking pictures of myself to send to my boyfriend so he’d come home early-FAIL.COM  So while February is my birth month-and my dirty 30 was great (sick, but GREAT-thank you for all the b-day love), I’m happy to see it go because NO MORE SICKY kthxbai. Plus it seemed like everyone had the plague, so I hope we’re all on the up and up. Soup and green tea, dolls.

I’m obsessed with my Pretty, Prettyyy, Pretttyyy Good Shirt (Holler Curb Fans!) that my boyfriend got me for Christmas-and I love it even more because one of my very best friends has the same one. So we may or may not sychronize when we wear our shirts. Lame or cute? Let’s go with cute.

A.n.y.w.a.y.s.
There were some things I found in February that I fell in LOVE with, and since the last beauty-ish post I did was basically in 1997, I thought I was due.

1. CHI Ionic Color Protector System 2 Conditioner $16-I switch up my shampoo/conditioners A LOT, and this is my current fave.
2. Physicians Formula Shimmer Bronzer in Vegas Strips $13…because being sick in the winter has left me looking like Casper. But not as friendly. Grrr
3. Smashbox High Definition Concealer $18…something else that has helped me not look so sickly-this build-able concealer deflects light and makes me look awake and ALIVE even after sleeping all day.
4. Philip B. Maui Wowie Beach Mist $22…blowdrying, straightening and curling is SUCH HARD WORK when I’m sick, and it’s always good to give your hair a break from heat styling anyway. I was going to shell out for my beloved Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray, but was referred to this Maui Wowie…and I love it. My hair is beachy wavy, not sticky and my hot tools stay under the sink.

Hi lovers.

You may notice that some posts aren’t here anymore.  That’s because I’m in the middle of an open investigation and I’ve been advised to take them down.  And I’m ok with that-I’m definitely not ignoring what happened, but my blog is a happy place and I don’t mind keeping things light and surface for awhile.

Which brings me to some good news!! I GOT A NEW JOB-doing Marketing, PR and Events in the fashion industry-so it’s basically perfect, and I’m very excited to have a happy distraction and a concrete reminder that my life is moving forward, in a great way. It literally came out of nowhere, and happened so fast, and KEEP YOUR CHINS UP.  Life throws us crazy curve balls, but don’t close yourself off to the positive stuff too. I’m still learning this lesson, and I know I have a long road ahead of me…but I want to enjoy my life.

So it’s been a hot minute since I’ve done a Liz is Loving. My tonsils of death and destruction had me in bed all last week, and it seems like almost everyone I talk to is under the weather.  Hydrate! And don’t work out if you have a fever. Listen to your body! Moving right along…Here are some things that made me feel better when I was illin-and also a few things that have made me excited to get back into the gym-JEEZ it’s hard to get back into the groove (boy you’ve got to prove) of working out after being sick. Boo.

Jeggings.
Hi, I know I’m extremely late to the party but I LOVE JEGGINGS (where’s Jamie at! Holler). Holy crap. They are so comfortable and they are ACTUAL pants-as in, totally acceptable to run errands in when you feel like hell, wear on dates, or lay on the couch not moving watching endless Law and Order/CSI/NCIS episodes. Oh also to wear to Sunday brunch with the sister, as seen above. I would know, because I’ve done all that and more in my freaking amazing F21 jeggings. They’re stretchy and forgiving (and cheap!)…need I say more.

Laura Mercier Secret Brightener-I hate wearing a face full of make-up when I’m sick, but I also don’t like to scare people, so something I always do if I’m forced to leave the house is apply a bit of concealer. It’s the least I can do for the public.  And when I look sicky, Laura Mercier Secret Brightener is my HERO. Makes me look way less zombie-ish.  It’s not Halloween yet. Loves.
Slouchy, comfy boots! Poor Uggs.  Remember years ago when everyone wanted them…but then some unfortunate souls started wearing them with short shorts ala’ Britney Spears, and ever since they have had a bad rap.  I don’t think so!  I’m pro-Uggs, when worn responsibly of course.  That means-when it’s cold or when you’re sick.  I WANT THESE BOOTS. I saw them on someone’s blog a while back, and they will be making their way onto my Christmas list this year. I’m 29 and still write a Christmas list, don’t hate.  I love the slouchy knit and obviously, I must have them in Grey. I promise I won’t wear them with a dress. Swearsies. Just with my jeggings. Ok, so let’s say we’re feeling better and ready to get our booties back in the gym! Or whatever you do! Today was my first day back and I thought I was going to d.i.e. Therefore, I’ve decided that in honor of my new jobby job, I am going to treat myself to some new workout gear tomorrow! Gym-spiration! lululemon Run-Speed Shorts Been wanting these forever…I run indoors, and it gets HOT. Plus, I’ve done enough lunges and squats to finally feel comfortable showing off the legs! And I used to NEVER want to do that, so indulge me.

I actually left the gym a bit earlier than usual because I wasn’t feeling so great (LISTEN TO YOUR BODY!), but after coming home and eating, I did Tone It Up’s ahhhhmazing Circuit Work-out. I’m obsessed with these girls-I stumbled upon them on Youtube a few months ago during one late night of nerding out on nutrition/health stuff, and I really dig their approach to health and fitness. They EAT! I’ve been living off their protein pancake recipe, and they have amazing hair- you know how I feel about that. But let’s focus…SUMMER IS COMING! This means a few things-work outs are being kicked up notch-OHHHH reminds me-check out the new blog I’m contributing to, along with so many other awesome bloggers-In It To Gym It. I digress…SUMMER=showing more skin, not wanting to wear tons of makeup because it’s so hot, faking a tan, touchable hair and skin, getting vajazzled (huh). Anyways, I’m loving these products as I venture into “Summer prep mode”…yep, there is such a thing, in my world at least. Welcome, it’s nice to have you.Fresh Brown Sugar Body Polish- Makes your skin feel like silk and smells so.good. I DIE. Shed your winter coat, literally.  It’s not new, but I can’t live without it. Also, exfoliating is a must before self tanning…ehem…St. Tropez Self Tan Bronzing Spray-I’m not going to preach, because yes, that will be me at the beach or poolside for the next 4 months. Count on it. BUT, I’ll be getting my tan elsewhere. As in, from a bottle. I LOVE St. Tropez because the color is perfect, and they’ve eliminated the infamous self-tanner reek with some super smart technology…all I can tell you is that it smells like flowers, not like you just got flea dipped in chemicals or acid. LOVE.

Nars Body Glow-Ok, so now that we have are all exfoliated and tan, obviously we have to show it off.  I want to bathe in this.  The Monoi de Tahiti Oil smells like a tropical paradise and the “chocolate shimmer” gives your stems/collarbone a subtle sexy glow and enhances your tan.  ALSO-dries super quick and won’t get on your clothes.Victoria’s Secret PRO Camouflage FX Concealer Palette-I was all ehhhh about trying out VS revamped cosmetics line because I was never impressed with their makeup before.  However, the other day I attempted to hit up Sephora but couldn’t deal with all the girls wearing pink wigs running around and scaring the hell out of me in honor of the Tarina Tarantino launch, so I started wandering around the mall and my my, isn’t this story interesting (you’re welcome), found my way to VS .  I bought a few things, my favorite being this concealer palette, which shocked the shit out of me because custom palettes and corrective colors are items I expect to spend a lot on. In the summer, I hate wearing foundation, so I stick to concealer and light powders.  I can already tell I’m going to be obsessed with this. 3 shades of concealers that you can mix-so, if you get tan, etc…and then a green to counteract redness and my fav, the apricot to shut under eye circles DOWN.  PLUS? It’s like $14. John Frieda Collection Luxurious Volume Lavish Lift Root Booster (That’s a mouthful. TWSS) YAY CHEAP HAIR PRODUCTS! I swear you guys, I love me some Kerastase and Pureology as much as the next girl, but these “affordable” lines are really stepping their game up.  This stuff gives me crazy volume and also makes my hair sooo soft. Love it. Posietint by Benefit-The sister of legendary Benetint, this lip and cheek stain is so purdy! Much lighter than benetint, which never really worked for me because I have fair skin and it was just TOO bright.  Loving Posie for the summer because of how neutral it is and since it’s a stain, it stays on forever, even in the heat/during making out. NARS The Multiple Coffret-LOVE The Multiple’s no matter the weather, but they are just so perfect for Summer. Multi purpose color for eyes, lips, and cheeks, and so easy to toss in your bag.  This set happens to have my favorite 3 colors-Orgasm, South Beach and Copacabana.

I don’t know what got into me tonight! I’m pretty sure some of the things on this list will put me on a one way train to Naughtyville, but Santa, trust when I say this is the innocent version. And I’m really nice usually, and say BADASS in a loving, warm fuzzy kinda way. Fragrances are always on my Christmas/Birthday lists, they’re easy and people can’t go wrong. Gucci Rush is my favorite for Badass evenings…sexy and I’ve never met a guy who didn’t like it. One of my favorite badass makeup tricks is to heavily line the inner bottom rim with black liner. You need a really good pencil for this, and I’ve been on the lookout for a new one. So, I asked bff/makeup artist/all knowing beauty product whore Istvan and it was settled. Armani Smooth Silk Eye Pencil in #4-Black.
Oh I know. STOP WITH THE COLD PLASMA, right? Well, loves…I can’t. Stuff is GOOD. I’ve been having lot’s of late nights and the guy I’m currently making out with has sexy scruff so my skin should be all messed up, but since I started using this lil bit of magic in a jar not so much. 2. Twelve by Twelve by Forever 21, especially the “Sunday Best Collection”. I’m new to Twelve by Twelve, but I love how the pieces are a bit more fashion forward and higher quality, yet all will remain under $100.

3. Silence and Noise Tulip Dress available at Urban Outfitters.com $48.00…buying it NOW. 4. The Etsy shop HardCouture. I was just browsing Etsy for unique headbands to wear with my new bangs, and I found HardCouture. Not only do I adore her headbands, BUT she’s an Orange County girl like me, and I like to support local small businesses.

5. So some of you know that I was a make-up artist for M.A.C for years, and I’ve received a few questions about the teal shadow in my last post. I say go for it. I was talking to the lovely Kristin at Bondon Rose, and I suggested she try a M.A.C shadow called Clarity.-Swatch below. Keep in mind that you will need to layer to achieve your desired intensity-and as this is a swatch of the color on white, will look darker on your skin. I also recommend Newly Minted, Shimmerose and Electric Eel…all here.6. Another M.A.C product (and no they aren’t still paying my bills!) Skinsheen Leg Spray is a gel based bronzer that you can literally apply EVERYWHERE, and it won’t rub off on your clothes or get streaky/weird should you decide to dance on the bar at Coyote Ugly in Vegas. Just sayin.

We used to slather the models in it for photo shoots, and it’s a safe alternative to tanning and scary self-tanners. It also doesn’t have glitter in it, which I like, but keeps you looking glowy.

8. Ok, this one I go CRAZY for, and should be number one. Moroccan Oil has changed my hair, and thus, my life, and I’m not exaggerating. It is like the nectar of the gods or something. Again, turned on by my amazing stylist, Moroccan Oil smoothes and protects before any heat styling. It makes your hair SO SOFT and shiny you will want to pet it all day. It retails for about $34 and is worth every penny! Seriously you guys…UNBEWEAVABLE!

9. I only wear True Religions. I’m a firm believer in finding the brand of jeans that work with your bod, and remaining loyal because jeans shopping can be so horrific, right. I LOVE these…True Religion Stella Black in Medium Lovestruck. Hot with some heels, or even my M.J flats! 10. And last but not least…because they’re badass and although I love summer…Fall fashion is just so much more fun…Chloe Over the Knee boots available here. At least I have a couple months of flip flops and flats to save my pennies! That heel makes me want to do bad things…
