First of all-I am BEYOND honored to be featured on Dream Sequins today! Check it out! Dream Sequins is one of my favorite blogs and new friends, and it meant a lot that she asked me to be part of her Behind the Blog series! So since I’ve got fashion handled there for the day, let’s discuss some matters of the heart. Kinda.

Please don’t say I told you so, bloggy banana friends. I promised when I started this online dating nonsense I’d give you all the gory details. Kthxbai…here’s the story of the 4th…Do you know who “he” TOTALLY reminds me of? Justin Bobby from the Hills. So I am now going to refer to him as J.B.

As some of you know-the (judgemental vegan) J.B totally flaked on me yesterday.

On. The. 4th. Of . July.

Pause for reaction.

Back story-his band played at Universal Studios on Fri night. I didn’t go, because I thought it might be a lil stalkerific. He texts me after, he’s so excited to see me, etc…he’s going to a few bars in Hollywood with the band…his texts turn into drunken texts until 5am. I wake up, laugh at his texts, run to Starbucks, read some blogs…and wait for him to call/text me like he said he would. Nothing.

Now, I have A LOT of (fake ha) hair. (I didn’t name this blog Unbeweavable for nothin!) First date hair vs mellow hanging out with the girls/family hair are 2 different animals, right? Can I get an AMEN on that? I didn’t want to start fully getting ready until I heard from him.( Total date hair inspiration below, love it.)I call and it goes straight to voicemail where I leave a very mellow, casual message. (Inner monologue-am I being punked? wtf?)

I talk to some of you. We agree he is probably passed out from the previous evenings quasi rockstar shenanigans. We also agree it’s best not to get “first date ready” because it’s looking like I’ve got a waste of hair and make-up on my hands.

Fast forward- to 5ish, (we were supposed to hang out at 1.) Text-”Oh shit, I just woke up.”

Pause again for reaction.

By this time, I am on to other things for the evening, and that text, without an apology, got no response from me. Now here’s where things get complicated-er.

He calls me at 1030-I am home watching the Devil Wears Prada and hoping my dog doesn’t have a heart attack due to the fireworks.(Ms. Bella is not a fan.) Leaves VM “I really need to talk to you. Please call me.” etc, etc.

Pissed off Latina that I am, I call him. Gloves are on, ding ding!! He tells me that he was too nervous to meet me, because he really likes me and he panicked at the last minute because he got scared I wouldn’t like him in person. He says he realized what a big mistake he made, so sorry, blahblahblah, and is there anyway he can make it up to me this week?

This is more than just being nervous. He didn’t give me time to make other plans really, he just FLAKED. How rude! (Do you guys hear Michelle Tanner from Full House when I say that…or is that just me?)

We’ve since talked again and made plans…again. I like him. Am I making a big mistake? Don’t answer that. Everybody deserves a second chance, right? ( Answer that one.)

Disclaimer-I am not looking to be treated like crap, and I don’t put up with it. The only reason I would consider giving Justin Bobby another chance is because the dude gives me crazy butterflies, there is some kind of chemistry and let’s be real…he’s HOT. I will also never reserve a holiday for a guy I’ve never met. EVER. Life Lesson #786353 learned.

My weekend wasn’t a complete failure! I did a lot of this…

"The Life of a Materialistic Future Diva"

I have been lucky to gain over 300 followers (hello! I’m happy to have you!) without receiving ANY negative/rude comments to date…until yesterday. I wasn’t going to post about it, but I realized…he asked me a question. And I’m going to give him my answer.

“I honestly want to know how you get time to enjoy life when you put that much work into ur physical appearance. and I’m not dissing. i really want to know what the life of a materialistic future diva is like.”

This person is basing his judgements off of one post…and that’s sad. But here is a glimpse into my so-called “Materialistic Life”, and you’re right, buddy…I am a diva. No apologies there.

I’m a daughter, a twin sister, a damn good friend, a hard worker, a world traveler, a charity supporter, an animal activist and a hopeless romantic. I am deeper than you will ever know, Mister.

Do I in any way owe you the answer to your question-No. But hey, I’m feeling generous. My life is FABULOUS and FUN! I appreciate every single thing I have, yet my material possessions will never define me. My life is a gift in itself because I know it can all be taken away, in an instant, and therefore I work that much harder on the inside than the outside…we are all a work in progress. My life is fabulous because I am thankful for every moment of it.

The Happiest Girls are the Prettiest Girls!

I am a professional make-up artist, and I love sharing my knowledge on my blog. I’m also a fashionista by passion and by trade-and all us fashionista’s will say we hate the term, but really, I am. Fashion is my art, my happy place, Fashion pays my bills, Fashion is my never ending source of inspiration. Does sharing this make me materialistic or shallow? When did caring about one’s appearance become a crime?

I recently left an abusive relationship, am healing and opening myself up to the possibility of love again, and I’m terrified. I am a writer-if you’ve read any of my previous posts, you know this. I am still grieving over the loss of another relationship 3 years ago, and do a lot of deep thinking and soul searching about it, because I am carrying around guilt I can’t seem to shake. I take risks and open up my soul on my blog, and am blessed that by doing this, I have had the ability to touch others and develop bonds with other bloggers, who have in turn touched me and given me hope that I will find someone worthy of the love I have to give, among other things.

I enjoy life by laughing hysterically with my friends, challenging myself, dance, eating cupcakes and drinking wine, admiring my sister, shopping!!!! (yep), cuddling my puppy, working my ass off, hugging my loved ones tight, traveling, dreaming, loving, writing and learning from my mistakes.

And I do EVERYTHING in a killer pair of heels and an extra swipe of mascara.

I get that as my blog increases in popularity, these things will happen…However, It’s Unbeweavable has always been and will always remain, a place of positivity, so if you aren’t on board, or can’t play nice…you are not welcome here. Peace! I am still not going to “moderate” my comments because honestly, I can’t take more emails in my life, and I trust my readers, and adore you all. SO MUCH. This one bit of negativity in no way negates the multitude of sunshine I receive from you on a daily basis.

Monday Madness!

Ohhh Monday…why do you hate me so? WHY? Lets be friends.

Couple of things-So our SHOWER DOES’NT WORK. And we woke up to no internet…ummm I kinda feel like I’m camping in my own house. You should know that I’m NOT a big camper! Not so much… Oh and if you didn’t know yet, by “our” I mean, of course, me and Gabby, She Wrote’s. We’re twins and roomies. Collective “awwwws” all around.

P.S. Yes, we pay our bills. I know what you were thinking! It was just the perfect storm.

Don’t be alarmed though…showers were had and although the internet won’t be turned on in our house until FRIDAY (panic panic panic), that’s what blackberrys are for! YAY FOR A NEW BLACKBERRY TODAY, P.S. I’m getting the CURVE-thoughts, comments, concerns?

So really quick…I’m supposed to be working…WHATEVER! I wanted to take a minute to give some BIG UPS to Gabby! She just wrote her 100th blog!
In honor of this she is doing a GIVEAWAY!!! A $40 GC to Sephora to be exact.

BUT, you guys…kinda irritated. Go to her blog to see the “rules.” I’m such a bitter bunny!!

Apparently you are NOT eligible if “you have ever or currently” live with her. UMMM WOW. Considering she doesn’t run a YOUTH HOSTEL I’m kinda thinking that’s about me…

Why didn’t she just say, “Hey Liz, suck it, you can’t win, so don’t bother?” I’m so PISSED jk…kinda.

Anyways, check it out…she’s the one who got me into blogging, and for that I am really grateful…cuz you know how much I love to love to love yaa love yaaa love yaaaa!
