This is not a Christmas list…just a few things I can’t get enough of as of late.

1. Snarky Santa Creepy Christmas Card I am obsessed with Sweet Perversion on Etsy…hope you don’t get offended easily!
2. LAKERS gear-I can’t tell you how excited I am that the NBA lockout is over and it will soon be Lakeshow time! I bought tickets to a game this a.m, and I am already planning what to wear-my boyfriends Lakers Santa hat is a given, obviously. Yep, he has one.
3. O Gorgeous Gym Bag This super cute and sparkly gym bag is nice and comfy at the very top of my wishlist…freaking love it-talk about gym motivation, I wouldn’t want it to just sit there.
4. Celestial Seasonings Sugar Cookie Sleigh Ride Tea I never thought I’d be obsessed about a tea,let alone blogging about it…but I am. This stuff is SO good, especially if you love sugar cookies but also like fitting into your skinny jeans. Ugh, it’s so annoying when people say things like that, isn’t it? SORRY.  I mean, there is NOTHING wrong with cookies! However, it’s pretty freaking fantastic how an herbal tea can taste like my nana’s sugar cookies, with none of the calories. My boyfriend was pretty amazed too, and wonders if someone can make tea that tastes like pizza.

Fair question, I suppose.

I basically live for excuses to buy a new outfit. Since I work from home, live with my boyfriend, am a grandma who likes to be in bed by 11 and don’t see the point in doing my hair on a daily basis when a. I’m going to work out and jack it up anyway and b. see above work at home/live with boyfriend, occasions to dress up are few and far between these days-not that I’m complaining, but it’s nice to feel pretty, yaknow?

Enter-Thanksgiving. I’ve been obsessing about what to wear more than I’d like to admit because when it comes down to it, it’s just family and a lot of food…but it’s as good of a fake reason to spend some money as I’ve got!

Thanks to pinterest, I’ve found it. Makes me laugh because it’s pretty much what I wear whenever I leave the house, but whatever. I need a new black blazer like I need… WHATEVER. Pretty! Cute! Lets spend money yay!
And my favorite jeans are perfectly stretchy in case I eat too much pie, which is a total lie because  I detest pie.  MUSHY FRUIT? Eff that noise, give me chocolate dipped in fudge covered in nutella.

I think I’m going to bring some Bailey’s Brownies via How Sweet Eats-which is the BEST food blog EVER and if you don’t check it first thing in the morning while you’re still laying in bed and you haven’t put your contacts in yet, so you have to hold the phone right in front of your face while you try to hide the screen so your boyfriend doesn’t see that you’re a crazy who looks at photos of fluffernutter cupcakes and buffalo chicken enchiladas at 7 am, I just don’t think we can be bff anymore.

Who am I kidding though?   A bottle of Baileys will do just fine.

And now I’m thirsty.

Today…

I’m SO excited we found a new “office”-a cute (ok, slightly hipster but not annoyingly so) coffee shop serving almond milk lattes, beer and local wine. It’s the little things, people.

Almond Milk > Starbucks.

I will be on the hunt for bags just like this…and legs too. Not for sale? Shoot, man. Guess I’ll go run.

And today, I am especially thankful for my people…my mom. my sister. my friends. my sexy arm candy man.  Life can change in an instant, but it doesn’t have to break you.  Happy Weekend, lovebugs.

I’m doing a lot of writing lately. Writing for and expanding We Love Dates.  Copy writing. Writing press releases and media kits for my fashion clients.  Ghostwriting an e-book. Studying for my personal trainer’s certification. Writing long emails to my best friends about important things like carbs, dying my hair chocolate brown vs espresso (I mean, so different!), and whether or not the Pour La Victoire Irina pumps I want so badly will cause me to walk like a drunk baby deer.
I love to write, and I love to write here, but all my good stuff is going elsewhere.  Right now, there isn’t much balance in my life, and I’m totally ok with that. I can’t be the only one who thinks balance is a bit of an overrated concept? I want to keep sharing, but instead of  always writing fairly wordy (and oh so witty) blog posts, it might just be a photo. An outfit.  A quote. A small glimpse. Pretty things. Little somethin somethin’s that will allow me to blog more frequently while still having fun and expressing myself…because when your blog becomes a drag, you’re clearly doing something wrong.

I don’t have a Tumblr-I thought of switching over, but hi, that sounds like a pain in the ass and I kinda despise when bloggers jump around all over the place.  Plus, don’t misunderstand-I will be writing.  I just want to share some of the little moments, in addition to the grand scale life changing ones.

Pick up some wine for dinner and save!

Maybe it’s because this post is sponsored by wine, but it’s going to be completely random.  Just one of those weeks!

My boyfriend got me a lovely present today. I’ll show, not tell.

Don’t believe what they say-the romance never ends, people.  No, it was (obviously I hope?) a joke. The smell almost knocked both of us out…it’ll be staying in the package.

I have no idea how to use Google+, I delete every email that says someone “added me” and I’ve only logged in once.  The thought of having one more thing to check makes me anxious and stabby.  Some may call it social media suicide, I call it sanity. But I mean, yeah totally add me.

This week, I’ve purchased both a juicer and a bag of chia seeds, both of which should be arriving any day now. I’m not quite sure how to use the chia seeds, and part of me can’t believe I paid for, and am eager to consume, a chia pet.  Recipes, anyone?

On the work-out front, lately I’ve been asking my boyfriend to kick my booty in the garage by putting me through his psycho weight routine and it’s a little alarming how he doesn’t take it easy on me at all! Rude.

I think I say this every year around this time (I’m too lazy to look-wait no I’m not) but…I can’t WAIT for fall! I know it’s cliche but I can’t help it.  Fall fashion tickles me in ways that summer and it’s flip flops and sundresses never could.  Boots and boots and sweaters and not sweating when I curl my hair and scarves and red lipstick without looking super weird. You know what else is weird? How there is already Halloween candy at the store. Slow your roll, life.

So enough about me-what’s up with you?

I am ready to go!

Get this show on the road…or the plane.

The next couple of days are going to be a blur of packing, spending time with my friends and family, and shoving all the food I might miss in Costa Rica in my face-Frozen Yogurt is at the top of that list.  And I just attacked some barbecue with my boyfriends family…bikini WHAT.

Packing for an extended stay in Costa Rica has proven to be TRICKY. I am usually a shopping/packing PRO, but this is a doozy.  It’s going to be hot…but sometimes rainy.  Humid.  I’m probably going to be covered in salt water and or chlorine at all times, and I don’t want to worry about anything expensive getting ruined, plus I will be doing my laundry there. For the past 2 weeks, I’ve been going in and out of stores, unsure of what to buy.  Here are a few things I plan to pick up in the next few days.

Hello loves! Whats going on?  I usually hate when people say, “sorry for not posting” because I’m fairly certain you can get through your day without reading my blog (NO!), but I’m sorry I’ve been mia!  Life is so crazy and fun and lot’s of things are going on…but I’m going to keep it easy breezy and blog about what really matters…fashion. I shall return with a more in depth post…

Days like today I am stoked I live in California…I’m sitting outside at the Coffee Bean, working in a tank top, a skirt and flip flops and it finally feels like SUMMER.  I don’t know about you, but I am super excited to put my boots and scarves away.  Now, to work on the tan…but that’s another story.

When I do have a summer glow about me (faux or otherwise-but cancer is a bitch so let’s go with faux ), there are certain things I absolutely adore wearing.  Bright nail polish makes the cut, as does a lot of white and glittery make-up.  Speaking of glittery, another thing that is a big time summer staple for me is summer gold jewelry.  Actually,  most days between say now and September, you can find me wearing something white, with bright neon nail polish, glittery makeup and an arm full of gold bangles and a gold mens watch.  I lean towards silver jewelry generally, but something about the warm sunshine makes silver look too icy for my taste.

Yesterday I was shopping with my boyfriend and I urged him to buy a v-neck shirt…which goes against his style completely.  But he’s super hot and the boy has serious muscles…but I digress.   ANYWAYS, he bought one, and when we got home, he said, “You’ll probably just end up wearing it anyway” to which I say…

Hell yes, I will. I mean, what is with me and wearing his clothing?!  The other day my mom asked me if I was trying out for a basketball team when I strolled into her house wearing his b-ball shorts and a t-shirt. She’s a funny one.  In my defense, it was 7am…

But yes, that V-neck will be mine.

I can picture it now…a slightly oversized mens v-neck, jean shorts, said gold mens watch and bangles, and a few mismatched gold necklaces for good measure.  And some gold aviators, just in case I haven’t covered all my bases. OH! And a gold ring. Or two.

I think I have found my new summer uniform.  What a relief.

Recently I was introduced to the great people behind Split Girl, a Southern California based lifestyle brand comprised of board sports, music, art and of course, fashion. Growing up in Southern Cali, I am no stranger to Split, so I was excited when this opportunity came along, and even more excited to hear of the Split Girl apparel and swim brand re-launch this Spring. I had a chance to talk with the designer behind Split Girl, Jaimee Brant (pictured below with her husband, Split owner David Patri) about all things Split, Southern Cali style, beach beauty and seeking inspiration.

Who is the Split girl?
Split girl is in college or a young professional who likes to be different. She stands out in her own unique individual way by what she wears, her attitude and her sense of adventure for life.

What does she do for fun?
She loves to shop and find a deal (She goes to the Rosebowl flea market), she enjoys music- concerts, bikes to get drinks with the girls, and she weekends in the desert—getting some sun while finishing her hand embroidery or latest creative venture.

What is she listening to-watching-obsessed with?
She is listening to “she and him”, Whitney Houston circa 1985, old Doo wop records and Gillian Welsch.

Vintage is a huge inspiration for Swim 11. Where are your favorite vintage shops in Orange county/L.A?
Personally, I love to shop online for vintage (love Ramona west and Allen co). But, I can always find something at American rag on La Brea.

In addition to the vintage prints, the cut of the pieces stands out to me as well-I love the back on the Nautical knots bikini top! It’s awesome to see such fresh detailing and I think the Split girl would really stand out in a crowd…What are your top 3 swimwear style tips?
Wear something that you are comfortable with that makes you feel good. If you feel good, people know it. Draw attention to your favorite feature. The nautical knots racer is definitely pulling attention to a hot back! Pick a suit you can move in…Swimming and sporadic dancing may come up.

I dig Split because I’m an Orange County girl myself (biased!), and understand the lifestyle. How does the local art, music, or even food scene influence your designs?
Everything influences me… The line is basically a collection of my favorite things.. It gives my favorite textures, colors, feelings a home.

After a long day of laying out (in my new Split Swim bikini of course), I have 15 minutes to get ready for a spur of the moment date. Help! What would a Split girl do in this situation?
Tease the hair and dab some essential oils to smell good. Chances are you are already looking rosy and wonderful from your day of basking in the sun, so stay minimal with the make up. Wear something easy, Especially an easy attitude .
