Happy Birthday to me.
Photo is from the first of my 30th bday celebrations this month…an amazing little getaway with my boyfriend.  The sunset…I die.

I don’t really know what to say about this turning 30 business.  I feel like I’m supposed to have stronger feelings about it than I do.  All I know is that I’ve been watching almost my entire High School graduating class turn 30…one by one, droppin like flies (thank you, Facebook) and you know what…they seem to be doing ok.  Doing well, even. Nobody has spontaneously combusted, or gone down some, “I’m not where I thought I would be in life” ridiculous shame spiral. Who, exactly, is where they thought they would be? I may be wrong, but if you are living the EXACT life you planned on living 10 years ago-may I suggest taking some risks? Living it up a tad? But I digress.

Maybe it’s the Emergen-C I’m huffing, and my close family and friends might hear otherwise should I have my moments today, but…

I’m kind of stoked to turn 30.
My 20’s were…intense. A lot went on. My early twenties are a blur, thank you Arbor Mist out of a straw and an intense relationship with Kettle One and cran’s. Anyone else feel like vodka cran’s are a gateway drink? Tastes like juice.

Around 25 is when I really started to grow the hell up. When I started to realize that the decisions I made were important, and more importantly, when I started to feel like I held the power over my own life and it was time to start respecting it.

The last 5 years have been a clusterfuck of great decisions followed by terrible ones, of failures and successes and of finally getting to know who Liz is, and falling in love with her, faults and all and subsequently, taking care of her. I’m proud of this life I’ve just begun carving out for myself.

I suspect the next 5 or so years will be the same clusterfuck of great decisions followed by terrible ones, although I hope the great outweighs the terrible. I will never stop taking care of Liz, and I will never stop carving out a life I can be proud of.

I’m pretty excited to be shutting the door on my 20’s while I’m standing in such a great place.

my family and friends are off the charts incredible, and I’m in love with a man who never let’s a day go by without making me feel loved and appreciated. Plus, I don’t look a day over 25. See? Yay, it’s been awhile since I posted shameless pictures of myself. But it’s my birthday, so I CAN.

And I have to admit, there is something about saying, “I’m thirty” that seems pretty sexy to me. Meow.
I’ll let you know how that goes.

You may find this shocking, but I don’t talk about everything here.  I think as a family we can all agree I share a ton of personal stuff and while I love doing it…I’ve been holding out. I haven’t told you guys about the ONE THING that makes me want to vom/cry while rocking back and forth in the fetal position whenever I think about it…the thing that makes me panic when I realize how fast time is flying…the day I never really thought would come.

I turn 30 in 94 days.

I honestly have been trying to be completely rational about this. Ever notice how when you have to “try” to be “rational”, it never works out?  Just me? Awesome. Anyways, I know it’s NO.BIG.DEAL. But last night, I was looking at my blog stats and whoa, there are some creepy people in this world, but that’s another post entirely, I digress.  Second to “Monday is a whore” , my Badass Christmas List has been bringing a lot of traffic and at first I was all, ” Awww yay I can’t wait to do it again this year” because that was SUCH a fun post to do last year…but then I was all, “Ohhhh shit, that means it’s almost Christmas which means it’s almost New Years which means it’s basically my 30th birthday, stab stab stab.” In summary.

I’ve never been big on the whole life list thing that is so popular in blogland. I totally get it, and appreciate the idea but I like to let life kinda just happen.  Probably because absolutely nothing in my life has ever been predictable, or boring, and I’m immensely blessed in all that I’ve experienced in my 29 years.  I’ve traveled, I’ve started my own company, I’ve taken risks, I’ve been spontaneous…and that was just on Tuesday. But in an effort to take control of turning 30 rather than allowing it to continue to control me…

30 Before 30.
1. Take myself out on a date. All alone. I’m the girl who’s never been to the movies alone, or a “real” restaurant. I blame this on having a twin sister and a lot of friends…but this has been on my “list” for a long time. I’m scurred. I need to get over it.
2. Run a full marathon. This was already supposed to happen, but life happened instead…
3. Submit the damn book proposal.
4. Have ridiculously scandalous (yet classy) pictures taken…just because.
5. Snowboard down a black diamond. See also-do not die.
6. Host a fabulous dinner party for my closest friends where I “Liz-ify” normal recipes to make them uber-healthy and actually taste good.
7. Go to the Grand Canyon. I can’t believe I’ve never been.
8. Volunteer. Probably for victims of sexual assault. Or puppies.
9. Buy a new pair of Loubies. Happy Birthday to me.
10. Dance on the center bar at MGM in Vegas. (Long story)
11. Hike Half Dome.
12. Go 48 hours without checking my phone/email.
13. NYC Fashion Week 2011-for fun, not work.
14. Become a mentor to a young girl (or guy) who wants to work in the fashion industry.
15. Spend as much time with my grandpa as possible.
16. Splurge on the most expensive lingerie ever…and maybe I just end up wearing it to Whole Foods…but there’s something to be said about how sexy underwear makes you feel.
17. Do another cleanse. Probably this one.
18. Give one of my best friends and her husband a weekend off by babysitting their 2 kids for an entire weekend…ages 2 and 5. Yep. Hold me.
19. Love. Even if it hurts.
20. Meet Wendy.
21. Georgia.
22. Hire an assistant.
23. Take a self defense class.
24. Continue to be brutally honest with myself, and others. In the nicest way possible, of course.
25. Actually take those MIT courses I blogged about months ago.
26. Take my mom out for a crazy luxurious spa day.
27. Reach out to a few friends whom I’ve lost touch with…and Facebook doesn’t count.
28. Run for half an hour at 9.2.
29. 100 “man” pushups.
30. Celebrate my 30th surrounded by the best friends and family ever…in new loubies…possibly on the bar at MGM…see what I did there?

Oh, hi. It’s my birthday. So remember when I was all ohhh I miss you and I’m totes attacking your blogs with a vengeance and making WordPress my bitch and then I didn’t? Well, you can’t be mad at me because it’s my birthday and I make the rules.  All that stress from last week is now revealing itself in the form of a flu/cold and attacking my shitshow of an immune system.  I’ve been rilly busy anxiously watching the Olympics (I freak when they fall!), and guzzling theraflu. OH, and I was just brought the Canadian version of theraflu, because it’s stronger. So thats fitting, no? Get it?

Ok.

It’s Feb 17th-and…I was born 19 years ago. Do you believe that? REALLY? Although! I was at the DMV last week for 6 hours of my life I’d love to get back and they asked if I was there to take my drivers license test for the first time and I decided to take this as a sign that all the money I spend on “age prevention” is totally working and my Sephora purchases are completely justified. RATHER than I look like complete hell/jailbait without makeup and hair and the whole nine.

Anyways.

So, I’m sick today. Whatever. It’s Wednesday and not much is going on, just MY BIRTHDAY.  And perhaps pancakes with Kelly at 1 am, cuz that’s how we roll. Friday begins THREE CONSECUTIVE WEEKENDS of what I like to call “Jesus be a fence or cheers to making some bad decisions.”

This weekend-birthday and bloggy fun, Cali style. Next weekend-birthday and bloggy fun, VEGAS STYLE. My two worlds colliding. With Ali! And Kathleen! Blog friends turned “real lifers” my life would be empty without are rallying 2 weekends in a row. Glorious. Here’s to topless vampire revues and dancing on the bar at Coyote Ugly like it’s my job.

And then…a round trip plane ticket to San Fran showed up in my inbox. From a boy who is sneaking his way into my heart. HOW SWOON WORTHY IS THAT?  So I’ll be in SF the first weekend in March. I’ll be fairly busy making out with his hotness, but if you want to get coffee or a shot, let me know.

SO YEAH. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME! And my twin sister of course! I don’t have any revelations or deep thoughts on this birthday-I just want to have FUN. A little magical fun. Good goal, right?

Breaking news-new computer arrived as I’m typing this post…so, it’s OFFICIAL this time. I’m back, dolls. God, I’m so addicted to the internet it’s absurd. Have a lovely Liz’s birthday day!

WOW…You guys sure know how to make a girl feel loved! Thank you SOOOOO MUCH for all the Birthday sugar!! BESOS TO YOU ALL-You guys are amazing! I’m sorry I haven’t been around to show the love, but it’s comin!

Confession-don’t judge me-but sometimes when I’m out and about I’ll be wondering what my dolls are blogging about…and like fiending to check up on you lovelies. I think I have a raging case of the fashion bloggers -”WHAT IF I’M MISSING SOMETHING FABULOUS?!” is pretty much my thought process. I just realized I can check from my phone…I think my bf thinks I’m crazy. WHATEVER.

OHHH a special THANK YOU TO YAMILA for her adorable post!! Seriously, it meant a lot to me You guys should check out her blog, she’s pretty much the cutest thing ever.

This just amused me. Someecards keeps me very entertained.

So having a blog called UNBEWEAVABLE, I’ve felt like a total fraud posting pics of myself with….ughhh wait for it…ROOTS. Such a dirty word! FOUL! I don’t know what it is…don’t you guys feel the same way? Even if nobody else notices them, they make you feel just a teeny less pretty. I ALWAYS feel better after I get my hurrr diddd. I usually get a blowout if I’m having a crap day. No, no I’m not high maintenance at all….heehee.

I finally narrowed it down to one Hairspiration…Ms. Rachel Bilson. She’s so hot, but we’re talking about hair here strictly, people. So I’m going back to my roots! Dark brown. I prefer “Chocolate Brown” or “Espresso” but call it what you will.Just kidding, a girl can’t have just one inspiration…I know you are all totally sick of hearing about my Zooey obsession but, sorry her hair rocks. This one is a bit dark so I’ll end up the monkey in the middle, hopefully.

UPDATE…So I started this blog earlier, and now I am officially a BRUNETTE again! I love it! I’m going out for Birthday Celebration #2 tonight so I will be taking pictures so you can see and judge me!

Can it please not pour all day long? Baby Jesus? Please?

It’s 2am and I can’t sleep, I don’t know why. I think I’m just really happy…I feel like I’m on VH1′s Best Week Ever or something.

I just got off the phone with one of my absolute best friends ever, Chrystina. You know those conversations where you are just feeding off each other’s absolute nonsense and laughing hysterically? It was one of those to the 20th power. I was crying from laughing so hard. An hour later I’m still giggling when I think of all the ridic things we were saying.

SHE, on the other hand has broken ribs, so yeah, all the laughter made her cry…out of pain! Laughter is the best medicine though, right? So in actuality, I’m a healer. Ha.

She’s starting a blog! I’m so excited, as a lot of my non blogging friends read my blog (sneaky biatches ) YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE and now they’re getting on the train too. Sooooo meet Chrystina at Faith, Trust and Pixie Dust. She’s just getting started, and like I said, healing from insane injuries but you’ll LOVE her! She’s also a M.A.C artist, her style is out of control haute AND she’s my future roommate, so we can do fashion blogs together! FINALLY someone to take proper pictures of me! Isn’t she purdy?
Good friends are such a blessing in my life.
BUT ANYWAY, BACK TO ME…IT’S MY BIRTHDAY!

I’m super stoked right now, life is good. 28 is going to be a fabulous year!

I saw this Polyvore set that I can’t take credit for but isn’t it amazing? I’m really feeling black and gold lately, and I think I can rock this out, I have a similar dress.

I have a few things on my B-Day wish list but really…

So we can go to Magnolia Bakery and get a damn cupcake. It’s not just the Sex and The City tie in, either. They’re legit. Also, Chrystina’s and my 3rd amigo/bff Katie lives in NYC. We’re trying to get her to move to Cali and live with us. I don’t know what Orange County would do…there goes the neighborhood…

There are lots of shoes (Pink Louboutins!), handbags, makeup, products, etc that I want and I will get! But at the end of the day, I’m a lucky girl and my friendships are one of the greatest gifts I have. Including my new blog friends…seriously, YOU guys are A-MAZING and inspire me every day, so THANK YOU!
