Last week I received this Hana Professional 1″ Flat Iron (and it’s pink!), along with a few other presents, courtesy of Misikko. Â My CHI broke last week and I was not a happy girl, so I was excited to try the Hana out, but a little skeptical-my hair is my thing, and I’m very picky about the heat tools I use, my hair is in the best condition* of my life, and I plan on keeping it that way. Â Really quick-I deep condition like it’s my job-I use this Rene Furterer deep conditioner 2x a week, and I don’t wash my hair everyday. Â I’m a firm believer that it’s one of the worst things you can do, obviously there are exceptions if your hair is super oily, etc. Â For example-I flat ironed on Saturday when I took these photos-Sunday, my hair had more texture which I love and was kind of messy and beachy, if you will…and today, it’s up in a crazy ponytail situation with a headband but the lil bit of dirtyness makes it look pretty cool. Â I swear by dry shampoos-I’ve blogged about the Rene Furterer one before that I hoard because it’s always sold out. Â Since I use so much heat on my hair-I ALWAYS use a heat protectant spray. ALWAYS. I actually adore this TRESemme one you can get at Target for like 5 bucks.

Wait, wait, this is actually kind of exciting became I use the same heat protectant spray! (Read: I am lame) And the only thing with washing my hair–I do it every day because I’m in the pool every day. And chlorine does very, very ugly things to my hair. Very ugly.

I really love the packaging with this Misikko straighter (love pink:) ! I bought my last straightener at Sally’s and it broke 3 months into it! So now I’m using one that’s less then desirable until I find one I love and will invest in.

sorry that i don’t tweet but i’d really love to participate this giveaway BECAUSE i wanna have it (obviously ;] ).. i have used different flat-irons but they ended up ruining my hair anyway.. they broke my hair or made it inclined to get broken easily. every time i had to have a haircut instead.. my hair is wavy and i do LITERALLY nothing with the fear of having my hair fucked up again ;( but i do like flat hair.. A LOT!! but i can’t get it flat for like 5 years. the last time i got it flat in a coiffeur was a month ago and before that, it was four month ago. so i just dry my hair at home and either leave it be that way or get a bun. so i really need sth i can trust!! something i can flat my hair with less fear.. and like in that pic of yours, i like to get my hair flat too.. so this is why i need it (if all this counts).. i really wanna try something new! something good!

This is impeccable timing for a hair straightener giveaway because my Metropolis (an overpriced, unimpressive brand) has broken AGAIN. I purchased it in July 08, I returned it under warranty in March ’09 and now I have to return it again under warranty, March 2010. I’m sick of investing good money on straighteners that are supposed to be ALL THAT and end up lasting a fraction of the time that my Vidal Sassoon has (thank goodness for that little thing because I have to use it whenever my “good” straightener decides to die). I have such frizzy hair, so I have to keep it trimmed, and I finally decided to give up my daily shampoo. I condition every day still,and I use a conditioner spray AND balm, and it helps, but I still get frizz sometimes. Ah! I’d love to straighten my hair, but it takes forever, and I hate blow drying my hair.

Beautiful as always! My hair is natrually straight. Like too straight. So straight that it has almost zero body. Therefore I am a firm believer in not shampooing everyday too b/c my hair always looks better w/ a little “dirt” in it and giving it some body.

Today is Wednesday but I’m still pissed about Mondays so the name-calling ensues.
