in bargains,Beauty,Hair,I am a product junkie,Liz is Loving,Make-Up,Nars,self tanners,Sephora,smelling good,summer,tan,winner

(Thank you all SO much for your kind words on my last post.  I almost didn’t hit publish on that one.  You guys are my sunshines. Thank you x a billion.  SWAGGER! Also, Ms. Landy-Land you won the Hana flat iron!  Congrats!  I’ll email you.)

But let’s focus…SUMMER IS COMING! This means a few things-work outs are being kicked up notch-OHHHH reminds me-check out the new blog I’m contributing to, along with so many other awesome bloggers-In It To Gym It. I digress…SUMMER=showing more skin, not wanting to wear tons of makeup because it’s so hot, faking a tan, touchable hair and skin, getting vajazzled (huh). Anyways, I’m loving these products as I venture into “Summer prep mode”…yep, there is such a thing, in my world at least. Welcome, it’s nice to have you.Fresh Brown Sugar Body Polish- Makes your skin feel like silk and smells so.good. I DIE. Shed your winter coat, literally.  It’s not new, but I can’t live without it. Also, exfoliating is a must before self tanning…ehem…St. Tropez Self Tan Bronzing Spray-I’m not going to preach, because yes, that will be me at the beach or poolside for the next 4 months. Count on it. BUT, I’ll be getting my tan elsewhere. As in, from a bottle. I LOVE St. Tropez because the color is perfect, and they’ve eliminated the infamous self-tanner reek with some super smart technology…all I can tell you is that it smells like flowers, not like you just got flea dipped in chemicals or acid. LOVE.

Nars Body Glow-Ok, so now that we have are all exfoliated and tan, obviously we have to show it off.  I want to bathe in this.  The Monoi de Tahiti Oil smells like a tropical paradise and the “chocolate shimmer” gives your stems/collarbone a subtle sexy glow and enhances your tan.  ALSO-dries super quick and won’t get on your clothes.Victoria’s Secret PRO Camouflage FX Concealer Palette-I was all ehhhh about trying out VS revamped cosmetics line because I was never impressed with their makeup before.  However, the other day I attempted to hit up Sephora but couldn’t deal with all the girls wearing pink wigs running around and scaring the hell out of me in honor of the Tarina Tarantino launch, so I started wandering around the mall and my my, isn’t this story interesting (you’re welcome), found my way to VS .  I bought a few things, my favorite being this concealer palette, which shocked the shit out of me because custom palettes and corrective colors are items I expect to spend a lot on. In the summer, I hate wearing foundation, so I stick to concealer and light powders.  I can already tell I’m going to be obsessed with this. 3 shades of concealers that you can mix-so, if you get tan, etc…and then a green to counteract redness and my fav, the apricot to shut under eye circles DOWN.  PLUS? It’s like $14. John Frieda Collection Luxurious Volume Lavish Lift Root Booster (That’s a mouthful. TWSS) YAY CHEAP HAIR PRODUCTS! I swear you guys, I love me some Kerastase and Pureology as much as the next girl, but these “affordable” lines are really stepping their game up.  This stuff gives me crazy volume and also makes my hair sooo soft. Love it. Posietint by Benefit-The sister of legendary Benetint, this lip and cheek stain is so purdy! Much lighter than benetint, which never really worked for me because I have fair skin and it was just TOO bright.  Loving Posie for the summer because of how neutral it is and since it’s a stain, it stays on forever, even in the heat/during making out. NARS The Multiple Coffret-LOVE The Multiple’s no matter the weather, but they are just so perfect for Summer. Multi purpose color for eyes, lips, and cheeks, and so easy to toss in your bag.  This set happens to have my favorite 3 colors-Orgasm, South Beach and Copacabana.

What are you loving right now? Sharing is caring.

Love Liz

I probably sound like a mom if I say don’t forgot the sunblock, so I won’t say it ;)

2 Liz March 28, 2010 at 4:54 pm

Yes, that’s a given…that’s also why I stress the fake tan :)

3 Meghan March 28, 2010 at 4:57 pm

Being the Irish, pasty white gal I am – I could totally use the spray tanner. Plus, I need something even – self-tanning lotion and Meghan do not mix. Just check in between my fingers – they usually turn orange in the process (hangs head in shame)!

4 Michelle March 28, 2010 at 5:02 pm

Love your last post too my sweets. You, are an amazing writer my love. Ahhhhmazing.

17 Aurora March 28, 2010 at 8:06 pm

Ummmm vejazzling can only lead to bad things. ONLY BAD THINGS.

That brown sugar scrub needs to be mine. As does the multiple coffret.

I think more of these beauty-tip lists need to be written. You know so much, and I think the little people need some insight into this wisdom, haha :)

18 yourstrulydear March 28, 2010 at 8:45 pm

i’ll have one of everything, thanks. :] and vajazzling sounds interesting hahaha.

xoxo

19 Taylor March 28, 2010 at 9:03 pm

21 Dany March 29, 2010 at 12:21 am

i love all this products, need to check if i get them here as well, as i have a really huge problem getting a tan :-(

22 Vixations March 29, 2010 at 12:47 am

Umm, I will probably never use any of these things because I barely know how to pluck my eyebrows and definitely don’t wear anything other than mascara and sometimes bronzer but all these things look so FUN and maybe you should come over and show me how to use them and then we can vajazzle each other.

What?

I LOVE YOU!

23 Andhari March 29, 2010 at 1:45 am

Read your tweet about vajazzle :p cracked me up. Let me know how it is. If it’s not too painful, i wanna try :p

Good luck on your workout for the summer :)

24 Chic 'n Cheap Living March 29, 2010 at 2:13 am

Oooh yes to posie tint! I’m also a pale thing (tanning doesn’t become me)! Thanks for the other recs Liz, esp. the exfoliator and VS – who knew!

25 Marjorie March 29, 2010 at 5:33 am

I use the whole Luxurious Volume collection and LOVE it! I’m definitely going to have to try out some of these other products too because you obviously know you’re stuff! :)

26 Kristin March 29, 2010 at 5:43 am

I’ve been waaaiting for this fabulous post. Thanks lady. And a big fat YES to Brown Sugar. LOVE that stuff. I so need to try that Posietint!

27 Kristin March 29, 2010 at 5:47 am

Oh, I forgot to say what I’m loving…Great Lash BIG mascara is the bomb diggity!

28 Lindsay {Shrimp} March 29, 2010 at 6:11 am

I’m a pasty sunscreen fiend and have never tried a self-tanner (crazy, I know!), but I’ve hear good things about Tropez. Might have to give it a try before my trip to Miami next month!

As far as my hot-weather beauty must-haves, I’m a freak for mineral makeup b/c it’s light and airy but still provides decent coverage. I’m obsessed with wearing Blistex balm with SPF 15 under the C.O. Bigelow gloss with gold flecks. Aaaand lots and lots of bright nail polish. I think I sound excessively low-maintenance right now…

29 laura trevey March 29, 2010 at 7:13 am

I need ALL of it :)

30 Juliana March 29, 2010 at 7:44 am

YAY for Summer dreamin’!

I am really going to get that spray tan, I am as white as a ghost and am not interested in getting skin cancer. Love these products!

31 Maddy March 29, 2010 at 7:55 am

Thanks for all the fab suggestions! My cosmetics are due for a major overhaul and this list couldn’t come at a perfect time. The Brown sugar polish & Nars Body Glow are calling my name! Oh! And I might need to get my hands on the John Frieda volumizer too! He use to have a product I loved (Beach Blonde Ocean Waves Spray), that I can’t seem to find anymore :( It was perfect for that wavy “beach hair” look.

32 LiLu March 29, 2010 at 9:21 am

At least ONE night in Vegas, you are so doing my makeup. Calling dibs NOW.

33 Cafe Fashionista March 29, 2010 at 9:47 am

So basically…I’m white as a ghost. As in, nearly translucent. Therefore, the St. Tropez Self Tan Bronzing Spray? I need. Like now!! :)

34 Lisa March 29, 2010 at 10:41 am

Oh, Liz. I am a sucker for awesome products, and you are not helping!!! lol. But anyways. These are some awesome suggestions!!! Thank you so much, I definitely want to check out that NARS body glow since I happen to love pretty much everything else they have. I’ve also never found a really good tanning product that I loved, so thanks for that, too! I am soooooooo in the summer mode already, too. This weather seemed to shift and it’s officially shouting SPRING!! at the top of it’s lungs. It’s already making me long for the beach…and yeah. I’ve kicked up the workouts into full gear as well! Talk about long runs after work…awesome aerobics videos…um yeah. I am determined to look smokey in my bikini in two months (or less!!) Hehe. Awesome post. <3

35 siovhan March 29, 2010 at 10:59 am

um pee to the ess … we watched jennifer love hewitt explain vajazzling on 3 different shows … and then watched the guys on “the doctors” freak the eff out about it.
SO GOOD.

36 seyma March 29, 2010 at 11:10 am

(this is a comment for the previous post darling. i’m commenting here in case you might miss it the other way..)

a really HUGE, GIANT, INCREDIBLE “WOW” goes for that particular writing Liz…this is not a joke and i’m not “wow”ing with a smile on my face or something… this is one of the most serious “wow”s i’ve ever popped out..

I’M SORRY Liz.. but NO, not for you (don’t wanna be misunderstood here). i’m sorry for all this time (up to this moment) that I THOUGHT I KNEW YOU. i’m sorry for all this time that I THOUGHT I SAW YOU. i’m sorry for all this that I THOUGHT I WAS THERE FOR YOU. i’m deeply sorry for all this time that I THOUGHT I’D SHOWN YOU HOW DEEPLY I LOVE YOU AND I CARE FOR YOU EVERYTIME I WENT LIKE “i love you babe”!!!!!!!!!! (and etc.)

i’m sorry for a billion times for saying such a shallow “i love you” so far..

can you please forgive me???????

because only with that particular writing, i’ve come to understand you.. NOW I’VE SEEN YOU.. now i understand what kind of a person Liz is.. HOW BEAUTIFUL LIZ IS in every aspect!.. (sorry my english stucks somehow. sorry if my english doesn’t convey my truest feelings for you!! -i’m not lesbian btw, no worries ;) -..)

you may not believe me honeybunny.. you may not take my words seriously.. BUT trust me, IF I HAD MY BEST CHANCE, I’D PACK UP AND HEAD RIGHT OVER L.A. AND BE BY YOUR SIDE even if you don’t want me :) i’m not fucking kidding, please take my word.. we’d laugh together, we’d cry together and we’d screw those bitches (no specific implications here) together with an evil smile on our faces :) ) i’d heartily do that for you if it’d make you ease..

and i feel that NOW I TRUELY AND GENUINELY LOVE YOU.. and please tell me: if there’s anything that i can do for you -it doesn’t matter what-, you should only ask sweety.. i’d just go for it without a second thought!!

take my word Liz.. you are wayy too precious for me than ever!!!
hope my massage is delivered safely..

LOVE,
XOXO

37 seyma March 29, 2010 at 11:11 am

and sorry for that comment-like post :) it’s too long i know.. i’m sorry but i couldn’t help it..

take great care darling because you are my sister now..
xoxo

38 lindsay March 29, 2010 at 12:08 pm

I’m LOVING all the mini reviews you’re doing. I need to deep condition NOW so you know I already looked into the one you suggested the other day….and isn’t the St.Tropez amazing?!?

39 Amber March 29, 2010 at 12:13 pm

Yay fun stuff! I see a couple must-gets on that list. All your great suggestions hurt my wallet so good lol! Keep ‘em coming, lady. XOXO

40 Magpie March 29, 2010 at 12:28 pm

I’ve never tried St Tropez because… ew the smell of fake tan is rank, and seeing people with oompa loompa heads and hands has just totally put me off.

HOWEVER. Since you seem to uppity about it and claim they’ve somehow got rid of the stench, I may have to actually try it sometime soon.

Thanks for the quickie reviews!

41 Nina March 29, 2010 at 1:41 pm

love the list! i’m in need of a beauty overhaul and getting out of my usual rut. i’m going to try some of these products.

42 Mara March 29, 2010 at 1:59 pm

you just got me so much more excited for summer! I need to find a good exfoliator so I’m going to try that Fresh one ;)

43 Melanie's Randomness March 29, 2010 at 2:57 pm

Oooo I read this post at the right time!! I’m in desperate need of some new stuff!! I love John Frieda stuff so I think I’ll buy this one!! Thanks girl!

44 districtofchic March 29, 2010 at 7:14 pm

I”m really intrigued by that Vickie’s concealer palette. I always felt that one color was never enough to conceal everything…

45 nicole March 29, 2010 at 7:45 pm

i NEED to try st. tropez!! how are ya lady? it’s been awhile!

46 Shop N' Chomp March 29, 2010 at 10:49 pm

I need to try that John Frieda Booster!

47 Arushi Khosla March 30, 2010 at 12:31 am

Um, John Frieda is god. GOD, I TELL YOU. THE RULER OF THE UNIVERSE.

I think I may have had too much red bull.

48 Haute World March 30, 2010 at 1:29 am

I’ve been so dubious of fake tans every since I tried one (from L’Oreal I think?) that gave the infamous streaks and orangey glow. Might have to try this instead, though I do tan easily even if I’m not out in the sun for long. I’ve always wanted to try PosieTint! Had the same issues with BeneTint (i.e. too bright / strong).

Hope you had a wonderful weekend and a great week ahead!

49 Sara El-Sayeh March 30, 2010 at 3:29 am

aw aw aw I want!!

50 Kellie March 30, 2010 at 8:05 am

I use the John Frieda Volumizing spray daily! Love it! A gal like me w/ limp hair needs a boost. It’s like my hair’s viagra! :)

xoxo

51 S.Elisabeth March 30, 2010 at 10:46 am

Def going to have to check out that VS concealer and all those tanning helpers. My skin’s naturally darker, but I’ve been trying not to tan so much since I now know just how bad it’ll make me look in the long run!

52 Sarah from 20somethingcupcakes March 30, 2010 at 10:57 am

OK – I’ve been dying to try the Nars Body Glow but was always afraid it would rub off on clothes…it really doesn’t?? Have to get. And I use this St. Tropez foam (also has instant bronzer in it) on my face – it is AMAZING! Def want to try this spray because I love a spray for the body – I use Neutrogena MicroMist from the drugstore and swear by it! Super cheap and super light, usually takes 2 applications but the result looks totally real. xxSAS

53 Jessi March 30, 2010 at 11:36 am

I’ve been in summer-prep mode too! Except, I think I can call mine “dance concert prep mode”, since I start slathering the self-tanner so I don’t look like winter-death on stage ;) I’m a fake-tanner (from a bottle) fo sho, so thanks for these additional product tips!!
xoxo J

54 Wande-Ladyee Boutique March 30, 2010 at 7:15 pm

Yay! Summer! I just ordered the Clairsonic, so hope it works wonders! Love that fresh scrub too!

55 Jenn March 30, 2010 at 9:08 pm

I LOVE THE NARS MULTIPLES!

That’s pretty much all I have… Haha but yeah – they’re badass.

56 Midtown Girl March 30, 2010 at 10:01 pm

This has nothing to do with products, BUT….was watching the newest epi of Millionaire Matchmaker and you totally came to my head when I saw the 21 y/o brunette (the make up artist) on it!

Seriously go check it out, I was like – “Omg, that looks like Lizzie!!!”

57 Lisa March 30, 2010 at 10:21 pm

I was at Sephora over the weekend and I saw that Fresh scrub for the first time…I smelled it and almost died!! SOOO perfect! Too bad I’m poor.:( It’s def on my Sephora list (which is like a mile long!):)

58 Caitlin March 30, 2010 at 11:57 pm

I love Nars body glow- this post got me excited for summer as well!!!!

59 June March 31, 2010 at 4:03 am

I must be the laziest person in the history of Summer. Am I the only person who had NO idea people prep for summer, I thought it was just grab bathing suit and running to the nearest beach. Clearly, I’m wrong. lol. I definitely do not see nail polish on there, OPI is a must have. What I’m loving right now is 70 degree weather, beaches every weekend and shopping with my closest girlfriends.

60 savvygal March 31, 2010 at 7:26 am

What a great list. I am looking forward to gold Chanel nail polish. : )

61 Hey Lady! April 2, 2010 at 11:51 am

I just did a blog post on the same thing! Thanks for sharing, I’m interested in that root boost stuff, sounds good and cheap enough to try it and not worry if it doesn’t work! Thanks!
