If you follow me on Twitter, you’ll recognize these boots…I lusted over them Sat night during a convo with my partner in crime Kristin. Thank you to Kristin for all the images in this post, my laptop is being such a jerk lately! P.S. I think one of my biggest regrets in life is when I met Kristin (in Alabama), we didn’t get to shop! TRAGIC. But there was sweet tea vodka and a college bar fight to entertain us, so whatevs!
So of course, I find ridiculously priced rhinestone cowboy boots that
I sorta need...and immediately start to think of ways to justify a purchase like this
to people who just don’t get it. This is a great skill of mine. Ask
Brooke. I rock at spending her money.

My favorite way to do this is to think of all the things I would wear them with and how my Fall wardrobe would be barren without them, as I will wear them everyday and be known for my super badass rhinestone cowboy boots. People won’t even call me Liz anymore.
I’ll be “the Girl in the Super Badass Rhinestone Cowboy Boots” ala’ The Girl In The Green Scarf in Confessions of a Shopaholic. Totes.
I think they would look cute with
this dress, in a weird lumber-jack chic-ey kinda way? But only with super unbeweavable hair and makeup. P.S.
DYING over
All Saints right now. (Free shipping. Fun fact)
Because these look like the
most amazing skinny’s ever…and a proper cowgirl needs jeans, no? Also via All Saints.
I could add them to this entire
Free People ensemble…(course I’d have to buy it first. ha)
But then the inevitable happened. In my search for Rhinestone Cowgirl outfits, I found these boots! And now I can’t decide…basically the same ridic price, no bling but soooo cute!
Thoughts? Do you guys rationalize purchases like this?
In other news, do you guys remember Jill of
The Pilgrim Congress? She’s purdy and guest posted for me once and wrote a very educational and popular post on
How Not to Look Like a Tranny Hooker in 5 Easy Steps? WELL!
Today is her ONE YEAR WEDDING ANNIVERSARY and while she’s on a tropical vacay with her hubby, I have the privilege of holding it down on her blog. So go read
my lil guest post, but if you are easily offended and or have no sense of humor (um.why are you here?), don’t go…there is xanax, Jesus and Speidi talk.
Happy Monday lovers!
XOXO,
Liz

i want to write something nice but i cant. because i dont:
1. like cowgirl boots / cowboy boots
2. enjoy plaid since i said its a trend for teens (ok for those that dont know i love plaid but i've seen it on all these tween/teen kids i dont want to be boxed in with their group so i have to talk shit)
3. know about the rhinestones…………….at least its not a bedazzled gone wild
however! those jeans kick ass and if you put a gun to my head i would pick the non dazzled …it will go a long way
i say wait till they both go on sale so then you can have both for the price of uno!
1. I still love you, bitch. YEEEE-HAWWWW
2. You put a picture of me in plaid on your LE BLOG because you love me in plaid.
3. I'm gonna bedazzle you a paper bag for christmas. yay!
Holy Hell – can I just copy & paste Kelly's list bc that's EXACTLY how I feel.
I'm dead serious. Cowboy boots would make me look like I just came off the boat.. But just for me..on YOU they would look AMAZING. Go for it chickie and if the price is too high – DIY!!
Damn I'm good…LOL!
XOXO
Amy
Girl…you forgot your hat!!! A cowgirl isn't complete without such…or are we protecting the hair??? Luv ya ♥
i did post a picture of you on my blog in plaid but thats you homie!
dont forget my anon monday is coming up!
Well, I'll have to go against both those lovely ladies and say I seriously dig cowboy boots, especially the rhinestone laden variety, as you well know. Ah ha. I hope those Frye pretties end up in your closet. And the next time we see each other there will most def be shopping involved. It will be a Party in the USA. Ah ha ha.
ummm i'm all about BOTH pairs of boots…just sayin! and they'd be perfect for say a, ummm, trip to INDIANA!! YEEE HAWW!! save a horse, ride a cowboy!! that's right…it's time to saddle up! HAHAA! but if it were me, i'd be all over the free people boots…LOVE them! but not as much as i love you….because you're my hoe, my hoe,…hahaa!! love you lady!
O.M.G. that All Saints website is KILLING me. In LOVE. Those jeans are a must have.
I love the free people boots, but if they're the same price as the Frye boots, then go for those! You're getting more bang for your buck! Haha
Hey sherlock or is that …. "the Girl in the Super Badass Rhinestone Cowboy Boots" .. cracking me up again babe.
btw all that stuff looks super cute to me.
xxxx
hmm im thinking we just found the perfect new blog title…
gosh those boots are gorgeous. ive been begging every person i know to combine their money for christmas to buy me ANY pair of brown/tan/caramel/black…ANY pair of cowboy boots
you and kristen are too cute, i love reading your posts dedicated to each other they crack me up. ok well my love i hope you have a wonderful monday..if that's even possible!
xoxoxo!
Okay. So, I just found you through Jill's blog and think you may or may not be my shoe soul mate. haha
And seriously, why is this even a discussion? BUY BOTH. Clearly your wardrobe would suffer without them!
I'm loving that Free People sweater/jacket.
Hmmmm…I'm undecided on the boots. Well, undecided for me anyway, I think they'd look awesome on you! And I think you've definitely justified buying a pair….and a few other items to wear with them! Maybe you should start a new feature where people can send you an item they want to buy and you can justify it for them! Lol.
not sure how I feel about bedazzled boots but you know that you can wear anything and completely OWN IT. So if you want 'em get 'em. *running to read your guest post now*
I'm dying over plaid…like on the floor. Crying and sobbing and kicking my feet for it.
So, today I decided to do a Lisi skin post….ALL FOR YOU ma cherie.
It's not up yet, but check back later…xoxo
um.wowow….love the skinnies…love the top…seriously love the free people stuff.course.course…and love love you!!!
it's monday i've got ugly pants on…fricken ready for some new pants already!
liz…srsly, ONE MIND. my post today mentions a certain rhinestone cowboy…
YESSS to all the urban cowgirl attire…spesh the rhinestone boots. YUP, that's right i enjoy the occasional bling and girrl when you can't think of a reason to buy, i'm ALWAYS there to come up with something. i love rationalizing purchases.
it's my specialty…can you imagine us BOTH shopping?? yikes. scary.
but anywho, i'm with the first pair of boots. sorry the 2nd pair looks a lil too soft for me.
already read your guest post but i will read it again because that's how much i LOOOOOVE you. me, easily offended??? ha! cha right! CHEERS TO XANAX and that's all i have to say about that
bwah!
i have FOUR pairs of frye boots/shoes – they are my FAVORITE.
Lizzy, I love you. Jus' sayin. You made my Monday morning a li'l less gloomy (um, hello, winter weather up in her' – not okay!! *pouts*)
I say go with the rhinestones – you only live once!!
xoxo J
Ooo…girlie…I may be biased (you know, since I live in Nashville and all…) but I am all about the cowboy boots!! I love both pairs, but if I had to choose, I'd definitely say the rhinestones! You'd be the queen of every single honky tonk in those beauties! (Scratch that. You'd be the queen even without them!)
Liz!! you shold definitely but the second kind of boots.. they do rock!!!!
and love ya, xoxo
seyma
I am love, love, loving the sparkly boots. The ones at the end? Not so much. They look a little (lowers voice) …cheap.
:O
I said it!
Love me anyway!
xoxo-your main blog gay.
Well if you decide on one pair and can do just the one then it is not two pairs
With shoes I just buy and take them home try them on and if I can get away with the statement "but don't I look hot in them" with the boy then I know they are keepers!
oh and LOL to alicia's comment…INDIANA! YEEHAWWWWW!!!
i love you and you know i'm not the only one.
I love that cowboy style boots are becoming more hip. Yeehaw! Buy them and then come wear them in Texas!
Those boots are like DAYUM!!!!! Smokin hot lady!
Hope you have a great week my love!
Oh, I completely justify purchases like this. In fact, when I want something badly enough, I could write a book of justifications for such a purchase.
As much as I adore rhinestones – who doesn't want to twinkle with every step they take? – I LOVE those Free People boots. They have this worn-in look that is downright scrummy! And hello? They would look a-ma-zing with those jeans – which, I must admit, are truly the best skinny's ever…I want!
oooh, i like the free people boots. those look perfectly slouchy and warm…ideal for the colder months ahead.
OMFG I need those rhinestone cowboy boots right now. I wasn't even thinking about cowboy boots, but then I saw the rhinestone ones and I fell in lust. Damn. Are you going to get them?
I'm with Kristin's comment…I'm all about the rhinestones and the plaid! LOVE!!! Of course I do secretly wish that bedazzled jean jackets were back in style! J/k..ok maybe not
PS damn you LA for getting All Saints first.
But I'm going to check out their stuff online, if you say it's free shipping. AHHHHH. I need to save money for Thailand!
Seriously, we should get these badass rhinestone boots and start a secret club or something… we could be sole-sisters! lol. And hell yeah to the All Saints skinnies, and yep to free people too. Damn good stuff, it's killing me over here.
Reminds me of this:
http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/img-thing?.out=jpg&size=l&tid=10767104
How are you babe? I've missed you sooooo much! xxx
i love the rhinestone boots!! you need to get them now so you are the first to be wearing em and then everyone is going to copy you. they are unique and adorable!!
i will be dreaming of them.
& i think i'm like the one girl left to buy skinny jeans. sad huh!?
i feel too short and stumpy to wear them.
anywho…hope you had a great weekend darlin! luv ya lots!
Girl, I luuuuhuv those first pair of boots. Did ya get that? Luuuuhhuv!
Still not sure I can rock the skinnies, but the rest is fab fab fab.
Kinda like you.
Muah!
Liz my darling I honestly love everything you've pictured in this post! Those studded boots would look amazing with the shirtdress ~ great contrast!
xoxox,
CC
Oh how to choose!?!?! I would say the rhinestone ones b/c they gave me a little gasp, but will the non-bedazzled hold up better through the test of time??? I think they are win/win either way. And yes, I totally just typed wine/wine and had to backspace and delete. You know what is on my mind.
Ohh I want you to bedazzzzle me something fabulous!!!!
Back for comment #2. See all the love the rhinestones are getting? Not to be a bad influence or anything but…make like Nike and JUST DO IT!
i want those boots. now. ;P
Now the 1975 song "Rhinestone Cowboy" is stuck in my head. I regret to say that I remember it from when it first came out.
all saints…i die…
i can't help walking in their shops whenever i pass one. the leather jackets…the shoes, the belts, the cardis, the LBDs…jeez, i need to calm down!
love the boots. both pairs. and i think you need one of them. you just do. no justification needed.
actually, i think the boots need you.
whatev'…talking lots of rubbish tonight!!
happy monday darling!xxx
I love that plaid top [I know, COMPLETELY NOT the point of this post] but whatevs! The boots are awesome, both of 'em. They're differemt so you could possibly need 'em both, no? Oh well, I also have cowboy boots on my "craving list".
Heading over to your guest post…
I think you should do it…the western look always comes back in style …although I may like the last boots the best.
kelly's comment is hilarious.
yee-hawww!!!
The boots are scrumptious darrrlin'
xo*
LOOOOVE those Fryes!!!
I like the skinnys!!! drools..
*loves*
i have a LOT of frye boots and none of them sparkle! AT ALL! love these boots. you can do it. work it. you need these.
yes, i am very good at rationalizing purchases. my closets are JAMMED and i just packed up 2 YUGE bagfuls of stuff to give away, it is still crammed in each closet, and yet i want more clothes. and shoes. and boots. ALWAYS. nUTS!
I'm all for boots with bling, bring it on, Lizzy! I just bought some rhinestone BCBG platforms that my mom says I'll break my ankle it, but even she had to admit they were too darn cute to pass on. I think "Barbie" came up once or twice. The non-blingers are purdy too…really can't go wrong with either. Either way you know you'll rock 'em.
Off to read your guest post now my fave Lizzy ever, ever, ever.
I'm so happy to see this. I have Frye cowboy boots since last year and no concept how to wear them.
Hey hon! I've missed you and your blog! Just spent the last 15 mins reading everything I missed… ohhh, where to I start? Loved your love story of sorts… I can so relate. For the longest time my happiness depended on others and once I decided to just be happy with me, everything fell into place.
Loved the Isabel Marant show by the way. Do you know that those chain boots are still available in stores here? Just sayin
Oh, and I definitely prefer the Frye boots. Despite the bling, I think they look more rugged and worn. Plus I always think if you're going to spend a lot of money, the item should look a bit more unique…
And last of all… congrats on meeting someone special! So happy for you and he sounds like a wonderful person. Does this mean you won't be heading to NYC that soon?
is there anything in life that isn't better when it sparkles???!!!!
so i hope i get to see you this week…or maybe this weekend yay!
Those are both adorable boots, but I would still go with the sparkles just because they are unique. I love Free People and am totally addicted to their cute stuff though, choices choices. I loved your Shopaholic analogy…you are too cute! Hope you had a fun weekend, I'm off to read your guest post! XO!
dang who knew cowboy boots was so enticing! oh wait, YOU DID! uh thank you!
haha! i can't believe you just got the rhinestone cowboy connection. you's a funny one.
BTW…me. you. SATC. hell. oh wait, i mean…nevermind. did we just get punked?! BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
OH AND…kelly's anon mondays are THE BEST. i had fun with today's answer.
Ok the rhinestone boots are to die for!!! Lusting!!!!!!!!!!!!!
you would look ROCKIN in those rhinestone boots. oh girl, i want to BE YOU! seriously.
i find myself doing the EXACT same thing when i find something i most definitely need.. like my current shopping spree i am STILL on.. haha i have never been this into shopping but lately clothes, make up and shoes have been screaming my name! so glad to have found you!! much love darling.
I AM SUCH a whore for the rhinestoned cowboy shit. LOVE.
I love the Free People boots!!! I wanted to stop by and let you know that I have an award for ya! Go to the address below to get it!
http://rmpepperling.blogspot.com/2009/10/i-would-like-to-thank.html
um…yeah…I need this ENTIRE everything. yep. everything posted here i likey and want-y.
I actually recently bought a free people flannel that looks kind of like the one you posted here and it has these little studs on the color and around the front…loves.
btw, still dying over how not to look like a tranny. lol
I think anyone who goes to such lengths as you just did for these sparkly cowgirl boots — then they earned the right to own them…Stick 'em up! and yes, I go to the same lengths when rationalizing most purchases over $10. now I have that damn Glen Campbell song in my head.
Despite it's not my style I think they can look great.
xoxo
Haha I love Jill's blog! And hmmm the bottom boots are more reasonable, but those rhinestone boots are kind of so wrong they're right, and kind of amazing! Ha my best bet would be eeny meeny miny mo, the answer to all life's problems!
Wow, how was I thinking what everyone else was? I am kinda ehh about the plaid but it totally works on some people. Love the jeans, you are so bad for my wallet girl!
I want those boots…I think since I live in the south now they are totally appropriate. That's the excuse I'm going to make anyways. Too cute!
i will justify a purchase by telling myself it is a basic which i will use for a long time. of course a long time is usually one season. darn it.
Mmm, I'm such a Free People slut. I'm there on such a regular basis I made friends with the employees. It really is a sick habit. I consistently tell myself I'm making purchases "that will last a lifetime." So far that has proven the case, almost .006% of the time, which I am learning in my statistics class is just not very good odds.
I love plaid though…love, love, love. Though whenever I wear it, I kind of feel like I'm a wannabe hipster, which is just not the case. This shirtdress is to dieee for though. Love, love, love. I may just have to buy it…you know, since it is an investment piece and all
Love you dear!
I think when people in LA wear cowboy/girl boots….it's trendy and chic. When people from the midwest wear them…it's because they are actually country.
Since I'm from the latter and do NOT want to be put in the midwestern country stereotype, I avoid boots like the plague. You however could totally rock either pair! I'd go for the rhinestones…they're a little bit more rocker and little less country. Just my thoughts.
Liz, I can't think of any other girl but you who could rock those rhinestone boots! They are sparkly, fun, and hip. Like you.
However the devil sitting on my other shoulder is saying the other pair may be more versatile. Either one would look fab on you though!
P.S Thank you so much for checking up on little ol' me.
Yah, I have just been lazy and staying away from Blogger since…um..Friday…lol. I did just post though!
Ca-uuuuute boots CC. You can be a Rhinestone Cuppycake to boot! Get it? To boot?
Okay, I'm done.
Yes, thats what I meant…"down homey." They dont really suit the glamour girl image I have of you. I'm the gay that will call you out on an iffy boot choice. LOL
How do I get in touch with you honey? I'll just mail you the book. Its kind of worth the read-esp. since you live in Cali-the backstory is one of American expatriate actors living in Italy directly after the war. You would enjoy. You will have to pardon a few ice cream stains…thats how I roll.
no. i dont do cowgirls… just cowboys!
ooh! rhinestone cowgirl! the best kind of cowgirl
You are so cute. I would love to see these on you cuz you would rock them out!
Dude… I had to do the same thing for my recent heels. I thought about a good excuse to tell my boyfriend, so I thought about it this way: if I wear them 20 times, the price per wear is so low that it's totally worth it. SO, I just have to wear them a ton before I destroy them. That means daytime wears. Hence my new determination to live in heels.
This can work for you too!
I totally do the whole rationalization thing, only with my budget, it's more like I'm trying to rationalize an $80 blazer instead of $650 cowboy boots!
Those boots are fabulous and I think you would TOTALLY get your money's worth out of them. Maybe they could be an early Christmas pressie from Matt? And then by the time it's Christmas, he'll have forgotten the sting to his wallet and will totally feel the need to get you something else haha! Hope you can get them one way or another!
i absolutely rationalize large purchases. better to buy quality instead of quantity, the price per wear goes way down if you keep it forever, etc. etc. so i'd get Frye boots, but without the rhinestones. unless you live in Texas, or here in Tucson – then you could wear them to rodeos all the time
oh these were all the rage in longhorn country a couple years back. i love mine wear them all the time.
I'm SO happy you're happy, lovebug! Xoxo!
Oh, crap! I'm talking to my sister on the phone and meant to comment on the post before. "Still drunk" I guess!
wow – how would you decide? i love the blinged boots. i've had a pair with many less stones for 3 years and i'm still in love. this many stones could possibly last me a lifetime.
but the free people boots are quite amazing too.
oh decisions.
