I think it’s pretty evident that I have a HUGE obsession with Balmain. I’m sure some of you are sick of me raving about the collection…and to you I will say, I’m sure you are a cupcake but do NOT rain on my parade. Badass parade, might I add. Liz wants to go dancing again. In a $13,000 dress. I die. Somebody better knock this off GOOD and fast. And they better get the shoulders right! But as previously stated, we don’t really speak of cost here. Notsamuch. On that note, I added in the famous Isabel Marant boots that I’ve been trying to DIY for umm like 2 months, but nothing is as good as the original and my patience for DIY stuff is extremely limited, as I’m a total perfectionist with mild OCD-this does not lend itself well to arts and crafts. Which sucks.
I was feeling the sparkly black of the dress and the roughness of the grey chain boots together…I didn’t want it to look too perfect…said the perfectionist.

Blah I LOVE the Balmain collection! It's odd that one collection can go so far out of my girly tastes and make me fall in love with it! I love the outfit here, it would be realllyyy hot to wear! But ah 13,000 for a dress… that might be a bit out of my range… just a bit
Now THAT is a dress! Oh to be able to afford Balmain! I'm always shocked at how fast their items get sold out on Net A Porter! Who can afford it!? I remember when their denim military jacket came in, it was sold out by that same afternoon!!!

Oooo, me likely that dress!! The boots I'm not so sure about, I think they would make my legs look like brown tree stumps…more than they already do. You on the other hand would look ah-m-azing in it and your make up would rock and your hair would be fierce and blah blah blah.

I love Balmain too…so much.
this is funny but in high school I had this beautiful black sequin dress…it had short sleeves and it fell about an inch above the knee. I loved that dress so much. I wore it to a couple of sweet 16s and it was the one dress that I wouldn't let my friends borrow when we shared dresses for the various bdays and proms and formals…I gave it back to the aunt who gave it to me right after I graduated from HS. I have no IDEA why. It was so hot. It was just like this one except a bit longer and with these little bitty cap sleeves. le sigh…
I do still have both of the prom dresses I wore and my junior prom one was so fierce…it was sequins too but it was like this tealish blue green color..not really teal…but cooler…and it had these little straps and it was so gorgeous. that shizz is folded and wrapped in acid free tissue in a box in my old room. I'm NEVER getting rid of it. I wore it with silver shoes that I still have of course…loves.
ps–I would forego food and my car but I don't think I could forego the weave. granted it's not really a "weave" but with the amount of money I spend trying everything under the sun for my mass of curls is beyond! hubs laughs when I call it the weave…

I have to say, that dress is pretty incredible. that's not normally my style, especially those shoulder pads, ha! but I am loving the deep V neckline and the 3/4 sleeves.

I have no issues with Balmain, but I do think they are waaaaay overpriced for what they sell (i.e. I don't think the quality is any better than other designer brands out there). I'm still amazed they dare sell t-shirts that retail for over $1000, but I guess that's part of the image? By the way, I sighted the black Isabel Marant boots in one of the flagships here 2 weeks ago, so if you really really want, ohh, they're still out there
