Affordable Hair and Make-up Staples!
1. M.A.C Perfect Style Brush Kit-Limited Edition
I love this because quality make-up brushes are so key to getting the most out of your make-up, and this kit has 4 of my staples! Plus the make-up bag is super cute. $125 (4 full size, natural bristle brushes-yes, it’s a good deal!)
Not new on the scene, but great for adding volume and hold to your hair before throwing it up in a loose bun (see below post.) It’s not sticky or greasy and smells delish. $25
Seriously…this stuff is amazing. $11! If you are going to invest any money on brushes, you need a good brush cleaner. This disinfects, cleanses and conditions the fibers so they last longer and aren’t just plain nasty! It’s so EASY…rub the bristles back and forth on a paper towel with a few drops, dries almost instantly…good as new!
Hanako66 at Through The Looking Glass highlighted this Etsy shop on one of her famous Etsy Wednesday’s and I love “the Ropey“ …adds a little somethin somethin when I just throw the weave up! I love the ones with the flowers too, GORGEOUS!

i used to work at a salon during college and the b&b thickening spray would flyyy off the shelves. i was always afraid to use it due to the name. my hair is thick and big but now i just might try it out. i want that brush set too but for $125…i'm more likely to walk pass the MAC counter and get some shoes. eeeh!
ps. can you please post pics of yourself with that fab green scarf. i'm quite jealous you know
MAC makes me a very happy girl. I love all the eyeshadows and usually I need someone to physically remove me from the store so I don't spend my life savings.

The brush cleaner sounds quite intriguing. I wash my brushes with Burt's Bees shampoo and lay them out on paper towels to dry, but I always have to plan ahead and wash them in the late afternoon or early evening so that they dry by the time I need them the next day!

Ooh, thanks for the tip! I love all things MAC and have been using their brushes (and too many other things) for ages. Never tried that thickening spray… a lot don't seem to work, but I might give this a try and the headband's adorable! Congrats on winning the scarf by the way… love the star pattern!

hey gorgeous! Thanks for the tip on makeup brush cleaner, I've been looking for a good one for a while. I have this horrible habit of waiting forever until I actually get around to giving them a good scrubbing. Anything that makes the process quick & easy is good by me!
hahaha i just bought a headband from mandizzle a month or so ago— i got the green braid. i wear it all the time! her sizing is great- tight enough to stay on, but loose enough to not leave a line across your forehead.

the salon i used to work had sold bumble, and i threw out boxes full of products my hair couldn't use. i was moving and didn't have the room or patience for it. i should have saved you the thickening spray! you know they are coming out with a thickening serum that's supposed to work like magic, right?

I love the brushes/brush roll…my favorite brush in my personal stash is a MAC slanted eye from over 10 yrs ago…I can testify that they hold up well!! I STILL have Jury Duty…totally sucks…I really want to pull out a Balmain & be so badass that they dismiss me because I look so fierce!!!

OMG I think I just had an 'aha' moment. Remember when I was complaining bitterly about how my skin was breaking out? Well, guess who hasn't washed her brushes in about 2 months….eeeeewwwwww.
all really great stuff, i needs me more brushes!
ooh i'm now tempted to get some of that bumble and bumble hair spritz stuff, is it really that good even on super fine hair? anything to give my hair a bit of body and volume would be fab!
