Giving ourselves permission to like someone is a bigger step than I think we realize. We are really giving ourselves permission to act goofy and silly and potential embarrassment.

kudos for being willing to take that risk! I know how it feels to be scared out of your mind of being hurt again but I promise, when you are with the right guy the gamble is absolutely worth it. There isn't a lot that compares to being loved unconditionally by someone who understands who you are and is willing to be there on your good days and bad days.

Like they say the heart want what the heart wants…and sometimes our minds get in the way of that. Really, what rational thinker would put their heart out on limb with such a risk as being broken?

-There's always that crazy person like Chris Crocker who is not ashamed of how much they admire you, and I try to hold myself from being THAT far gone…tho…I DID CRY when I met David Sedaris(one of my 2 favorite authors-stephen king is the other-but Jason brought me to a signing for my B-day as a surprise–so I had nothing planned to say to him and Jas had to introduce me and tell him I was a writer while I tried to hold back tears-It was SO weird! I was confused and embarrassed and excited-It's like the way I felt the first day of school in elementary. I think if u really have been inspired by someone in any way-it can be overwhelming to be faced with them-no words ever do that meeting justice…
AND- I luv that you found someone who may just be great enough to get ur attention. I hope he's amazing- cuz he's gonna have to be pretty incredible to keep up with you! But- Musicians tend to be my flavor too–you have to be passionate about music to play it, so it's like walking around with a giant "I'm passionate" sticker to their head. I hope he's a good dresser tho! Some of them just wear the same shirt every day and he couldn't stand next to you with ur Kettle Cosmo- fur jacket- and Rodarte sandals smelling like…an…old banana
