Hey Dolls!
I’m excited for a new week! I’m healthy and hopefully kicking booty at my interview-I was lucky to get a chance to go in today at 12! Cross your fingers! Third times the charm, right?
What better way for me to toss this week off to an Unbeweavable start…my UNBEWEAVABLE hair post! (Part 1) More than half of the questions you asked were about my hair, so I’m going to break them up into a few posts because you came here to read a blog, not a novel.
Part 1-EXTENSIONS
As the story has been told-the day the below picture was taken inspired the name of my blog.
BFF Istvan declared two things-
“When in doubt, track it out!” and “You’re Unbeweavable!” Both of which had me laughing and then lightbulb moment-BLOG name born!
Two of my favorites asked me specifically about extensions…Tiffany at I Am Style-ish, and E at District of Chic. (Sidenote-you must go check out their blogs, I love them somethin fierce!)
Are extensions hard to maintain and how long do they last? and What can I NOT do with them?
Extensions are not hard to maintain, although they ARE a commitment just like anything else! Before touching your pretty little head, your stylist should go over the maintenance extensions will require. (I know this won’t interest everyone, and pardon my mug being all over this post, but I figured you should see my hair since I’m talking about it.)
Brusha brusha brusha-I had to learn to brush differently, but it doesn’t take any longer and has become second nature. But I’d REALLY have to brush like a psycho to rip them out, they aren’t going anywhere. Same goes for washing, you learn to do it a bit differently, YES you can wash your hair til you’re blue in face if you want to!
I first got mine in October…had them “moved up” in February, and just had them removed and completely re-done with new hair last month. So-9 months! Not bad, right-when you consider I had to do absolutely nothing to my hair during that time-no cuts, color, nothing…FYI-When I had them completely removed-my real hair was healthier and longer than it has EVER BEEN. So I want to calm any fears that all your real hair will be ripped out-quite the opposite if you have them done correctly.
What Can’t I do?
There isn’t one thing I can’t do because I have a weave! I blowdry, I flat iron, go swimming. I even dyed them dark on my own the day I broke up with my ex haha. Below after the transformation to the dark side, where I am now…funny side-note-want to know what I’m gazing at so lustfully over to the side? A hot Laguna surfer? NO. My sister holding a water bottle full of wine. Klassy. I guess I was thirsty? Anywhooo…
A Few Things...
Price doesn’t always equal quality when it comes to extensions. Where I go in Newport Beach, CA, my stylist does celebrities, I am in love with my results and yet her prices are far more reasonable than other’s I’d had consultations with. The ONLY reason I am dropping the celeb thing is to prove that proper extensions can be affordable. If you have questions about price/methods-don’t hesitate to email me. Let me just say-it should be way under $1000 for a full head, including the highest quality hair. WAY. I really can’t stress that enough!
{Moi and the Orange County, CA extention queen Kristin}
-Have consultations! 20 if you have to! Ask to see before and after pictures, see if there are clients you can talk to for a referral. There are some jacked up salons and stylists out there-and I don’t want any of my girls looking like Britney at the MTV awards, mmkay? So take your time, don’t go to the first yahoo you see on Craigslist cuz she’s cheap and never feel pressured! Here is my own before and after…see how she matched my already highlighted hair perfectly? Amazing.
To wrap this up, I want to say that personally I would go without new shoes or bags for months to afford my extensions if it came to that. Or I’d live in a cardboard box with great hair, rent isn’t important! OH where’s that douche to call me materialistic and self involved when I need him? Haha…but seriously, I was lucky to have them done RIGHT the first time, and I’m truly in love with the results.
Only gets a little tricky when you’re making out in a car and the.hottest.guy.ever’s hands are all up in your weave…but that’s another story. Of course there are other options that aren’t so permanent and costly that can be fabulous too! So take your time, consider your options and don’t hesitate to ask me any questions! Sorry if this post didn’t appeal to everyone, but lot’s of readers have asked for it since I started le blog!
Next up…How the heck do I get my hair so big?…
Have a great day luuvers! Did you enter to win a Mandizzle here?!
XOXO, Liz

I'm so happy you feel better. And I know you'll kick but at your interview. Sending you happy and good luck vibes through the internet!!
Now I know. I have always been a bit curious about them, extensions that is. My friends used to get them all the time, some cheap looking and others the very picture of perfection. Seeing as I'm going to cut my hair soon it nice to have this infomation, you know just in case.
Kisses and hope you have a fantastic Monday
What an excellent & thorough post darlin'!
I learned so much – I had no idea you could do all that stuff with extentions…and your stylist did an awesome job of matching the colors – top notch guru there!
BTW – you really do look Unbeweavable in every pic sweetness!
Kissies, MG
ps. why do guys go straight for the boobs when you don't want them fussin' with the hair?! WTH!
you and your fabulous hair are AMAZING!!!! SHEESH! ok, now i know what i should be doing with my hair!
and fingers crossed that you land the job!
and so glad you are all better!!!
Yay for feeling better. Love the hair!
Good luck on your interview, Liz! I know you will do great.
Love the extensions, too. I've always thought about getting some myself. Thanks for the tips.
you are so unbeweavable!
i heart you girly! thanks for the absolutely fabulous post, I'm still undecided about getting mine (maybe in the winter) but this post has definitely made me feel better about getting them!
first of all good luck for your interview!! I used to have extensions too but after 3 years my hair starts to fall and I had to shave my head horrible..maybe because here we still don't have great stylist for extensions and my hair after ffew years are still very damaged
(
Ya ya!!! You're back and ready to share your fabulous knowledge
I love how you talk about having hottness rub up all in your hair while making-out. That's funny!!! Seriously though…it's SOOOooo much better to have the weave. I just couldn't keep up with the dough. Anywhoo- I wish you the best in your interview girlie. Dazzle them with your weave ♥
ugh…you're making me want to get extensions even more!! Too bad I am freaking broke =/ GL on your interview and I am so hapy you're feeling better love. =)
P.S. could you do me a tiny favor? Go to my blog and tell me if it looks OK? My friend and I spent all day fixing the damn thing and it looks perfect on my screen, but is still screwy on hers…Just tell me if it appears fine for you, pweaseeee =)
Thank you so much!! I don't have a third columm, I am just trying to keep this all centered and balanced. Def let me know how it goes. once again, GL hun!!! Break a leg!
You have an excellent stylist (obviously). Your hair looks amazing both before and after. I bet they are so fun to play with!
You really DO have fabulous hair! Good luck with your interview xoxo

my love affair with your hair has only grown stronger. thanks, love.
And GOOOOOOOD LUCK today! You're definitely going to rock the interview. I'll be thinking of you and sending you the good vibes!
So glad you're feeling better and good luck with the job thing! I don't think a weave would be my thing, but I do love that mane of yours. Haha… my question was actually going to be if guys notice when running their hands through your hair, but I guess you kinda answered that question
It's pretty amazing that a weave would protect your real hair though… makes sense. Can't wait for the hair volume post! Have a terrific week!
Fabulousss darling…
I never had hair extension in my life…I'm tempted to try! Glad you feel better & healthy now…great new week, beautiful~
xo*
OK, I want extensions NOW! This post was so informative. I was worried that my natural hair might get completely ruined, but I guess not! Your before/after is AMAZING!
Glad you are feeling better, and GOOD LUCK TODAY!! xoxo
I had weave once when my hair was damaged and it fell out. I suck at taking care of weave, so I applaud those that can do it.
oh lady you know i love me some unbeweavable weave!!! i can't wait to have my hands all up in…er…uh.just kidding!! haha…
thinking of you lady!!! canNOT wait to hear how it goes!! come three my time my thoughts will be consumed with good ones for you lady!
Great post–your hair is fabulous. So glad you blogged about it! (wine in a water bottle? Been there. Done that.)
Wowww. All I can say is that I now have serious hair lust. So perfect, so pretty. And that snap with you as a brunette? It's oh so celebrity-ish, love it
I've had permanent extensions (Great Lengths) and I loved them! It is the most confident I've been in my whole life.
I found them easy to look after but blow drying took ages and my hair gets greasy easily so I had to wash it quite regularly.
If I had the money I would get them allll the time! I <3 long hair! xxx
you are so UNBEWEAVABLE and i love it!!! in your honor i will be using that word all day this week. your extenstions are oh so fab, as is your hair, as is YOU! good luck on your interview. xoxo.
my sister-in-law is the only great lengths lady in arkansas, so you can count your little sweet cracker jacks i am getting a set when the back of my hair gets 3 inches. oh why did i cut my hair in the first place? i must go cry now…
I never considered getting extensions before your post. It really seems awesome, your before and after picture is a real seller ! I'm tired of my short hair and want it to just GROW already
Uhmm.. I don't have the money to do it right now thought. Saving for a vacay somewhere or to get my own place.
I love it Lizzy Whizzy! From the engagement photo to the session in the car! I still have my Ken Paves clip-ins to use. LOL, please don't think I'm ghetto – I'm more of a non-committment type when it comes to my hair…which is why I cut it??? OK, I'm also impulsive. I've been meaning to wear them out – thanks for reminding me
Hope you had a fab weekend honey! xx
You are so gorgeous, darling! Love the extensions… I have the clip-in kind by Jessica Simpson and I adore them!
Good luck at your interview!
xoxox,
CC
I'm so happy you feel better, doll! My grandpa is ok too! I think that… today ia a good day! So… You'll be SUCCESSFUL in the interview!!! I'm sure, honey!
i liked your post. ! =)
Have a wonderful day. xoxo.
So glad to hear you are feeling better! This is a great post… I'm not in the market for extensions or anything but this was certainly very informative! That's so funny that you dyed your hair dark when you broke up with an ex boyfriend. You hear that a lot. You know, women going "dark" but I did the exact opposite! I went blonde, and stayed that way, after my ex and I broke up about 3 years ago. lol But you see, I am a natural blonde and I had my hair dark and he never wanted me to go blonde and it's amazing how much I felt like myself again once I did it! Stupid boys… lol
Yay! I'm happy to hear you're feeling better. I'm glad you posted something about your unbeweavable hair, because I wanted to ask about that. Whenever I've gone short, I've toyed with the idea of extensions, but dismissed them because I thought they'd be too high maintenance or pricey…
I love extensions but they are not for me anymore. Whenever I would take them out, for some reason my hair would seem shorter than when I first put them in. I found out, they just weren't healthy for my hair…
you'll totally kick butt in that interview! ;P tell us how it went! and i want to hear the story about the totally hot guy whos hands are all up in your weave! haahah! ;P
Holy hot mama in that beach pic lady!!! I know you are gonna knock their socks off!!!
i'm thinking about getting some for my wedding, but not sure if i can keep up with them. hmm…
I love extensions…but only done the right way! Yours look auhmazzing!! So fun.
i hope that interview went well!
I know I tease you for yo weave, but it honestly looks good…I mean, if you like that Disney princess perfect hair. Pshaw.
Love it! Now if only I had the money for that… My hair totally lacks any volume whatsoever. Boo!
i can not WAIT to learn how the heck you get your hair so big!! love your hair, esp in that first engagement picture!
i had extensions for 2 years…i miss them dearly
Glad to hear you're feeling better!
I thought you might appreciate this.

HAHAHA!! Good luck on your interview darling! let me know how it goes!
Hey! Congrats on the interview going well. And a BIG kiss and squeeze for being such a great friend and giving me support.
Also, blogs are the best because your buddies can stear your mind off of problems and your post did just that. I am fascinated with extensions because I've always wanted to have hair like milla jovivich in return to the blue lagoon. Thanks for the tips if I ever go that route.
you have the best hair ever!!!!
I had extensions for my wedding and loved them…then decided to chop off all my hair and now I have so much/such long hair I don't know what to do with myself! love you and can't wait to talk to you later!!!
Good luck on the interview!!! You'll be great!
So jealous of the gorgeous hair!!! Mine is in DIRE need of some rehab. Glad you're feeling better and hope the interview was a smash! {I have no doubt it was!} I must know all about it ; )
xoxo dollface
how informative. i love this post. would hair extension create more volume?
btw, i have a shoe giveaway, come join the fun.
good luck with your interview, you will be great!
wow this is a seriously awesome post! super packed with info. my hair is past my boobs…but ill bookmark this in case i ever decide to cut it! xo
I love hair extentions! Great post xoxoxox
Woah that first photograph is stunning, and I am loving the before and after
I agree with what you said about consultations 100% Even if it's only to get a simple hair cut, I only want the best I can find coming near my head!
Glad you're feeling better! And yip, I am saving up my milk money as we speak for some killer Louboutins and a good quality real hair blonde wig
Hope you had a beautiful weekend dear!
i am sooooooooooooooooooooooo glad you posted this. i have had a billion questions about extentions but you know here in alabama – lots of white girls don't do it. my hair is long but thick and has gotten to a stop growning point. pisses me off! anyway, new place we moved to – has them for $895. but mind you AL is cheaper with everything. so, how do you take them out? and you are sure your hair is not damaged. i so want these!! with some fake boobs. lol
The one time I really wanted extensions I was told my hair was too short. Um, that's why I wanted them!!!!
woah, dood! that is hot! i want that!
I love all your hair tips and information, such a fan of 'big' hair and been contemplating extensions for some time now. When I'm ready to take the plunge I'm definitely going to your stylist!
Hope the interview went really well!♥
ahh you're so insightful! Thank you, I have never had extensions but I can definitely see getting some in the future!
You really answered everything and more about extensions! Thank you for that. Yours look stunning and glad you have such a wonderful stylist. That really makes all of the difference in the world. Hope your interview went SUPER SUPER well doll!
I really love them. They are so pretty and just look perfect. When my friend had them, I was so jealous b/c I've always wanted long pretty hair. Kristin's hair is gorgeous too! hmmm…what else do i need?
Oh, SO looking forward to the "big hair" post…
annnnnnnnd you make me want to go get some of my own.
i have thinner hair and would kill for some additional body.
Well…a very useful post. I hope you're having a wonderful day!
You are so freaking gorgeous!! If I didn't adore you, I would dying of jealousy right now.
One of my favorite posts EVER!!! Thank you for all these tips and letting people know that extensions will not result in baldness! I had extensions twice (once with literal tracks about 7 yrs ago and again 3 yrs ago with the "stickies" which I loved). The extensions helped my hair grow so much and now I don't even need them for the length! I am thinking of getting some again to add some fullness, but not sure!
P.s. Let us know how they interview went! And can't wait for the "volume" post! That is where I am desperate for tips!
I love it. my cousin is a stylist at her own salon in Laguna Beach and she does extensions if you ever need another name..your hair looks freaking fabulous and amazing (I never even knew you had a weave) just like it should when you do extensions…
xoxo
Hey Liz. Great post. Very informative. I liked the photos. I hope your week has started off well. Take care. Cheers!
Thank you! Thank you! For the very informative post on the weave! My friend and I have been mulling them over for a while and you're definitely selling me…
YAY! I am so excited for tomorrow's post! I've always been curious how to tease hair because even though my hair is so freakin thick it would be nice to know how to do some other fun hair styles. I love love your first "engagement" picture. Your hair looks so perfect I am jealous!
Wow, your blog and your hair are awesome. As a Texas girl, one thing we love is BIG hair. The bigger the better and yours is fabulous. Thanks for the extensions advice. I've been wanting to check them out!
my roommate got extensions and i was so jealous!! if you get good ones they look awesome! just have to make sure the hair looks real!
wow you got be hair, hawt
Oh, love it! They look great. I'm going to have to email you for some details. Is it a track or bonded individuals?
Great post but you don't need to keep apologizing to those nonexistent people who don't want to read it! Who wouldn't want to learn about this?! That salon did an amazing job it looks like on yours. Hehe that dark hair photo of you is sexay! Bet your ex kicked himself in the balls when he saw that one.
Hello, could you be any more gorgeous? Seriously I'm glad your gorgeous mug was plastered all over this post!
Can't wait for the rest of your hair advice!
I go back to dumb school on August 25th – will you be in the city before then?
Your hair is just beyond – and I love how simple you make extensions sound! Sometimes I think it can seem like this super intimidating and unbelievably expensive thing, but clearly, it's not!
Send me your email address at: allison_ladolcevita@yahoo.com and I'll send you that recipe! Make sure you have plentyyy of vodka on hand!
P.S. I love the fact that we prob drive the same car! And I just love you too, girl!
Seriously you crack me up… we share such a similar sense of sarcasm and wit, I looove it! As for this A-mazing post… you know I totally adore you!
So glad you rocked the interview and that all is healthy, happy, and gorgeous as ever! xxx
Interesting post! It's too hot down here for extensions (I just recently cut my hair off to the shoulders for this reason), but it's good info for the future. My sister is always talking about getting them because she had to cut off her hair for the military and she's having a hard time growing it back. Hope you are having a fab week!
PS. you look really pretty with extensions. It's a good look for you.
Loving this post!
I've got extensions too… I had to give my hair a rest last month in between getting new ones and almost died, aren't they the best xx
