All My Shoes in a Row!

by Liz on June 23, 2009 · 55 comments

in Fashion, Shoes, Yellow, bargains, cocktails, ooops but they're cute, shopaholic, to DIY or not DIY

I’m super honored to join the dirty little fun havers at Menage a Trois (without the commitment)“We are 5 twenty-somethings, on a mission to shake up that little bubble you live in. Yep, we are those girls.” So stop by, the party is just getting started. In Unbeweavable news...
These are my confessions, ala Usher…I suck at DIY, and I should never write in a post that I am not going to shop over the weekend. Ok, glad I got that out. I hope we can still be bloggy friends forever!?
I mentioned that I bought 3 pairs of shoes this weekend and a few of my sweet readers have emailed me wanting to see. Ok, but let me just tell you what happened…I am working on a DIY…I know I won’t be at the level of my fav’s love Maegan or E at District of Chic, but so help me…this project will be DONE! If you saw my tweets from this weekend, you know how stressed I was. Oh. The cocktails didn’t help. Do not attempt a DIY while having cocktails. Not pretty.
So anyway, for this project, I need a pair of (faux) suede slouchy boots. I didn’t want to use any of my own boots, because I was afraid to jack them up, and they are totally my investment pieces…along with heels, and bags…le sigh. Saturday I searched everywhere for affordable/cheap boots and this is the WRONG time of year to be on that hunt, especially in Southern California. It’s all gladiator sandals…don’t get me started. No boots to be found! But….ummm…here’s what I did find…on the total cheap. I couldn’t help myself. All three…total under $50! Take that, recession!

I think they’re perfect for summer, and the yellow ones are my fav! I can’t wait to wear them, and if they don’t last forever, who cares?! This is the dock outside my condo, and we have ducks and really big scary birds…and here I am…lining up my shoes… gettin all my little ducklings in a row!

Happy Wednesday! I hope you are all having a fabulous week! XOXO, Liz
(Thank you for your support, as usual, about NYC. You guys rock my world, and I wish I could give you all a big hug and buy you a cocktail!)

22 Children of the Nineties June 24, 2009 at 7:46 am

Cute! I love the shoes, and just think–you're stimulating the economy. At least that's what I tell myself every weekend when I donate my paycheck to the worthy cause of shopping.

23 polishedsense June 24, 2009 at 7:49 am

31 RCaitlin June 24, 2009 at 9:31 am

32 Pop Champagne June 24, 2009 at 9:34 am

heh lovely shoes… so what happened to your just tanning weekend!??! LOL!! But hey they're cheap so it's worth it!

And if you move to NY, maybe that will finally give me motivation to visit NY! I live 6 hours away so every long weekend it'd been like "I kinda wanna go… but don't really know anyone that can take me around the shopping districts…" hehe ;)

33 dapper kid June 24, 2009 at 9:34 am

Sooo looking forward to the diy!! And wow, LOVE the news shoes :) Those yellow ones are fantastic, and I absolutely love the navy and white striped ones too! Plus the price doesn't hurt too bad ;)

34 Kellie June 24, 2009 at 9:35 am

What a steal!!! All three for under $50 is ah-mazing! :) The yellow ones are my favorite too b/c I love yellow! I just rarely wear it b/c I don't think it looks all that great on me. Boo!

35 Ali June 24, 2009 at 9:58 am

Um, paging Lizzy. PAGING LIZZY.

Those shoes are amazing. And correct me if I'm wrong, but did you say that all of them were under $50…total?!

I didn't think I could admire/respect you any more than I already do, but apparently I was wrong.

Oy vey cuppycake, oy vey.

36 Carissa June 24, 2009 at 10:23 am

I am loving those blue and white striped heels. my only problem is being so damn tall. I feel like I can't wear heels like that because I'll be a giant! haha.

as far as your boot hunting goes, I hate shopping for shoes when you are looking for a specific pair. It seems that when you are looking for something, you can NEVER find it. though, I myself have a pair of grey-blue suede slouchy boots from Steve Madden. but my mom got me those for Christmas– aka, boot season!

anyhoo, congrats on the great and cheap finds! getting cute stuff for cheap always makes my day :)

37 Allison June 24, 2009 at 10:50 am

i want to see your DIY project. I guess you need the boots though..:(

i so need someone to hold my hand through doing anything like that though or it'd look a total disaster. good luck if you get to it!

38 Melissa June 24, 2009 at 10:51 am

Shoes…Shoes and more Shoe. Like a girl can have enough shoes, there is always room in the closet….or the kitchen….or under the bed or(you get the point!)

Awesomely summer shoes Elizabeth!

39 OceanDreams June 24, 2009 at 11:48 am

Yay for new shoes! Those yellow heels are just lovely and such a good find!

I must know…where did you find these?! Please share your good knowledge so I can go hunting too! Lol.

I'm glad you love Balboa too and I am sure that you will miss the beaches if you move to NYC, but, you can always visit and let's face it, NY has so many fun activities! Heck, I would love living there. Too much fun.

Have a wonderful day darling and enjoy those new shoes…shopping is very hard not to do. I went to Best Buy yesterday and got 4 new CDs. I am definitely a shopaholic when it comes to one thing or another. Ha ha. xoxo

40 J-Diggety June 24, 2009 at 12:06 pm

So, so sexy!! The black pair are my fave.

And when I return to NYC for my next visit (don't have plans yet, but trips to NYC are inevitable for moi), I'm *totally* taking you up on your offer to buy me a cocktail ;)

49 Underfunded Heiress June 24, 2009 at 7:37 pm

I love those yellow and the blue striped sandals. Perfect for summer!

50 Pen Pen June 24, 2009 at 7:46 pm

I LOVE the yellow ones too! You can go on a day trip to Nantucket on the East Coast and wear them :)
I'm SO excited ur moving to new York! The first time I read ur blog I assumed u were in New York actually…not really sure why–probably cuz u said u worked in fashion, and I immediately thought of Anne Hathaway being bullied by Meryl Streep…I hope ur job won't be as verbally abusive:)
I went to New York once, but didn't get to see anything since it was for work, but I really want to go back and see EVERYTHING–and by that, I mean- I want to go on the 'Sex and the City' tour and go to Grey's Papaya and so on :)
HUGS!!!!

51 Pen Pen June 24, 2009 at 7:46 pm

…I didn't show my shoes in my cribs episode! CRAP! :(

52 Style Porn June 24, 2009 at 8:25 pm

Well I for one think they're cuter than ducks…

And it doesn't count as 'falling off the wagon' with a deal like 3 pairs of shoes for $50. How could you NOT buy them all for that price?!

53 Miss Eve June 24, 2009 at 9:42 pm

Hello my sweet Liz :-) Those shoes are gorgeous…congrats!

And you see…I forgot to say "thank you" for you for the Kreativ Blogger Award in my Thank you post :-( I'm so sorry doll…I'm so unfocused these days I dunno how could I forget to say thank you for my favourite doll :-)

Many kisses for you and I hoping for forgiveness…
