Happy Friday Dollfaces!!

What are you guys doing this weekend?
It’s about 8:30 my time, I have a glass of red wine in hand, Lakers just WON, and I’m debating on what to do tonight. I met the sweetest girl through my last ex (the nightmare), and her boyfriend is in a band that is playing nearby. She invited me to go, and it sounds like so much fun. Note, she is not that close to my ex, so we have become good friends. HOWEVER, due again to satan/Facebook, I know that some of my ex’s friends might show up…which means I’m afraid THE EX will be with them. Yuck. Are you following me here? I am in no mood for that awkward encounter. She says she doubts that he’d show up…but you all saw how that relationship ended-not pretty…so I think I’m going to spare myself the potential drama and explore other options for the evening. I.E. more wine and a movie. Probably Taken for the 5th time. SO GOOD.
That sucks though, right?-not wanting to go somewhere for fear you might bump into a dreaded ex. Maybe if I were in a different mood, I wouldn’t care and I’d dress all hot and go toss the weave around…but not tonight. Has this happened to you guys? I think ex’s should be banished to ex island or something…like you irritated me when we were together and you STILL are? Not. Cool. :)
On another note-

Seriously, you ALL are. Just sayin :) You have no idea how much your sugar brightens my days.

So I’m into 3 columns now, like a big girl! I can’t take credit for this. My girl Iva at Iva Messy is a fabulous jack (jill?) of all trades and I have a girl crush on her.
I’m still tweaking things around but I hope you like it, dolls.
I also wanted to thank The Fabulicious.com for spotlighting my blog! Super honored, thank you!
Have an Unbeweavable weekend! XOXO, Liz

You’re my personal pickle.

OMG that sounds so wrong.

YAY DRUNK typing. This is the hardest part.
They’re going to take you.

2 Iva May 29, 2009 at 8:00 pm

OMG have I told you lately that I <3 you.

1) glad you are not going. I was in suspense reading the first few lines, my breath was slowly getting more and more shallow and after what seemed like a lifetime I finally got to the part that said "explore other options" and I was resuscitated (I just googled that word, couldn't tell if that was the right spelling)

2)more wine and movie SO GOOD

3) fabulous image

4)your three columns are amazing LOL…..I'm not taking any credit for it though…its your blog that rocks the 3 columns to their potential…umm I'll go as a jill before jack thank you for thinking of that

5)AWESOME SPOTLIGHT! Congratualtions <3

please don't ask why I just numbered my comment like a 2nd grade outline

xoxo

um me again….forgot to say “EX ISLAND”! you are so hilarious!

4 freeteyme May 29, 2009 at 8:06 pm

I’ll drink to Lakers winning too! Yay! Now Magic vs. Lakers! And if I can find some less ridiculously priced tickets to the finals – that will be amazing!

Oh, Also watched Taken recently and I loved it. Not a boring movie at all!

As for ex’s – as I have learned from my mom “If I have nothing good to say then it’s better to keep my mouth shut.” LOL. Happy Friday Liz! Enjoy your Taken – again!!!! (hmmm maybe this time she won’t get taken? j/k)

5 freeteyme May 29, 2009 at 8:09 pm

6 Franco May 29, 2009 at 8:19 pm

7 Rachael May 29, 2009 at 8:22 pm

I may or may not have looked at and attended colleges in far off states to avoid exes and people I was soon going to make my ex. Yikes.

Ooo, look at you and your 3 columns!

8 TheBeautyFile May 29, 2009 at 8:52 pm

I just tried to watch Harold & Kumar escape Guantanamo and had to turn it off because it was killing my brain cells…..celebrating my grandpa's 90th birthday on Sunday….baking red velvet cupcakes, should be a nice weekend. Have a great one!

ex island is a fabulous idea!!! i can never go to beautiful santa barbara without sweating bullets and thinking i am going to run in to an ex. it would be a disaster, so i always avoid santa barbara. that is sad, as it is gorgeous out there. wah.

well drink up, hot stuff, and hope your weekend is fab!

11 Melissa May 29, 2009 at 9:50 pm

Taken, a great movie…but I’m partial to Laim Neeson!

Ahh! YOu are Lovely as well!

I was so happy that the Lakers won tonight, now I have about a week or so until the games start up again. When they do, my voice will be gone and some night will be spent with the volume turned up high, play off loud.

=) Have a lovely weekend!

12 Allison May 29, 2009 at 10:07 pm

Ahh, I fear seeing ex’s too. But honestly, I just hope if they do see me, I look great and I’m having fun! You’re beautiful; I’m sure he’d be the one lost for words if he saw you.

13 Desert Rat May 29, 2009 at 11:08 pm

I always say no matter how much you don’t like, couln’t care less, or want the EX you always have to look your best when you run into him and you always look great from what I’ve seen and heard here.

I hate your EX…because he was a total fraud! Have a great, fun, beautiful weekend!

14 Belle May 29, 2009 at 11:20 pm

Yeah don’t go. I hate being in situations that could potentially turn out horrible. Follow your gut instinct on this one darling!!

LOVE the new layout! so pretty baby girl xxxx

15 The Haute-Shopper May 30, 2009 at 12:41 am

I tend to break ties with anyone ex-related, but that probably just really depends on the ex. Love the 3 column! (then again, I might be biased because I use 3 columns as well). Also really enjoyed the last post about the make-up!

16 Damsels May 30, 2009 at 1:16 am

Are you the sweetest or what, EM? Love the lovely tribute! I am going to post it on CC!

And I toooootally understand if you want to be scarce when it comes to the ex… in fact, a night in with a movie and a couple of glasses of cab sounds pretty fab to me!

Congrats on your feature, too!

24 Kristin May 30, 2009 at 6:08 am

That’s why I left my ex behind in Houston.
: ) Don’t let a lame arse keep you from going to places that rock! Just look smokin’ when you go. Shouldn’t be too tough for you. Ah ha.

25 Keith May 30, 2009 at 6:51 am

If you ended up going Friday night, I hope you had a good time. I also hope you didn’t run into your ex. I wish you a fantastic weekend. You deserve to have a great time. Thanks for all the comments you leave at my blogs. I appreciate it. You’ve got a fab blog. I always enjoy checking it out. Cheers!

26 E.K. May 30, 2009 at 6:55 am

The night is about you, not the ex.

27 pink~leopard~print May 30, 2009 at 7:14 am

Oh darling i’m with you on this one! There definitely should be an island that exes (esp. if they suck) must live on until we are ready for them to join the real world again. In my case it’s my favorite shore town that I have decided to give up because I know my ex (Lord Voldemort) will be all over that place and I just want to stay clear of the drama! It’s awful because I love it there but it’s super small there so it’s just smarter this way. Trust me you’ll feel better just snuggling on the couch with a bottle or 3 of wine and a good movie! Hope you have a lot of fun no matter what you do! Ugh boys!

28 Chessa! May 30, 2009 at 7:39 am

I’m lucky that my nightmare ex lives in another country. I totally hear you! I hope you had a great night whatever you did and I hope that it involved lots of wine! xo

29 Dooder City May 30, 2009 at 7:58 am

You crack my shit up!! Satan/facebook <- I was seriously laughing when I saw that. Did you end up going? I remember in Sex and the City that Carrie says NYC is filled with The Ghosts of Ex's Pasts and it is so true! I have lived in either the East Village or Williamsburg for the past ten years here and I turn a corner and I am like, 'Oh hey mr. ex. what's up?' and then I am like, 'shit! I do not fill up to it.' I am curious to hear if you went or not.

30 Savvy Mode SG May 30, 2009 at 8:15 am

have a wonderful weekend.

31 Allison May 30, 2009 at 8:27 am

Ugh, I hate that a horrible ex, who was the problem to begin with, can ruin a potentially fun time for you, who did nothing wrong and is just a beautiful sweetheart. Seriously, I will drive the car to the airport to drop the douchebag off at Ex Island.
You are so witty and such a good writer, darling.
And I’m lovinggg your three columns! How did you do that? I’m so un tech savvy, it’s really sad haha.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend, you gorgeous girl. xo

32 Kristin May 30, 2009 at 10:02 am

Oh and when you marry Andy can you please ask him to introduce me to his d*ck in a box cohort? I told the hubs. He’s cool with it.

33 Couture Carrie May 30, 2009 at 10:02 am

P.S. I also meant to tell you ~ am loooving the new 3-column format; very chic!

34 brooke May 30, 2009 at 10:19 am

i actually just purchased taken…c and i love it! it was definitely so good..but so sad at the same time…my ladies are never going anywhere!! ever! anyway, i hope you are having a lovely saturday and that your evening turned out well…
and ex island…that is hilarious and kind of reminds me of temptation island…that ridiculous but addicting show…let’s send all the crazies there turn the cameras on them and laugh at their horrible expense! oh. but that’s mean…

35 Rachael May 30, 2009 at 10:29 am

Hey!
Come on over to my blog to pick up the award that you just won!

36 LENORENEVERMORE May 30, 2009 at 11:14 am

Sweetie Darling,
we are born with 'gut instinct'…let us navigate it & grow from the EX-perience…shall we*
Enjoy your weekend, sugar! ~XO*

37 Carissa May 30, 2009 at 12:37 pm

I totally relate. my ex works at TGI Fridays but I also have a lot of friends (including my bestie!) that work there, which makes things difficult. I literally don’t go when I know he is working. It is so childish! Now, I wouldn’t really mind showing up while he is there but I don’t because 1. I want to just avoid the drama and 2. my boyfriend does not want to go if my ex is there.

anyway, I haven’t seen the ex is probably a year. It’s so sad because we used to be such good friends and I think we could have stayed relatively good friends if had not been for– duh duh duh– his new girlfriend. who hates me. ah, the drama.

anyway, I am going to a wedding in july and I am 99.9 percent sure he will be there because it is a mutual friend and he (and his gf) is invited. I am sorta dreading it, a little worried that there will be drama but my plan is to look HOT, be confident and not give a crap about what he thinks! that’s my plan, anyway.

ok, this is a long comment. but just wanted to say I understand the situation.

38 The Seeker May 30, 2009 at 12:42 pm

Congratulations to the fab spotlight, dear!!
And you’re soooooooo lovely!!!!!

Have a great weekend

xoxo

39 tanya May 30, 2009 at 1:17 pm

glass of wine . . . a relaxing night (without drama) sounds pretty freakin’ good to me :-) Is that what you decided to do? Hope you’re enjoying your Saturday, my darling!!!

40 Emmy May 30, 2009 at 1:27 pm

42 Keeley May 30, 2009 at 2:28 pm

You are kind of a big deal! :) So glad you stayed in last night, don’t make me worry about you lil lady! Haha. I’ve missed you this week, work world kinda sucks! I need to go mobile I suppose…

43 Dream Sequins May 30, 2009 at 2:36 pm

When you’re not in the mood to deal, it’s not worth risking seeing the ex… I’m so happy that your blog was featured. Loving your positive vibes. Hope you enjoy your weekend :)

44 E May 30, 2009 at 4:13 pm

Uggh, I hate that – the division of friends after a break up. But it will get better and at least you got a good friend to back you up!

45 Emz May 30, 2009 at 4:22 pm

Fun! Yea I’m so happy the Lakers won! Hopefully you get to avoid the nasty ex =S

46 Awesome Sara May 30, 2009 at 5:19 pm

Have a lovely weekend!!!! Go lakers! (what sport is lakers?) I’m feeling a tad better. If only christen bale magically appeared with fried fatty foods and wanted to clean naked, then maybe i’d feel a litte more better

47 down and out chic May 30, 2009 at 5:55 pm

hope you’re having a fabulous weekend!

48 Yamila May 30, 2009 at 8:18 pm

50 dapper kid May 31, 2009 at 10:50 am

You’re lovely too dear!! Hope you had a fun time either way, and have been enjoying the weekend :) I’m tempted to say that the ex shouldn’t stop you from going anywhere, go and be fabulous!

51 Ali May 31, 2009 at 10:50 am

Loving the new column layout thingymajig!

And yes, ALL ex’s should be shipped to Ex Island. It’s just not okay for boys to rule ladies’ weekends sometimes. Not. Okay.

Hope you had a good night afterall lovely!

52 Penny June 1, 2009 at 1:20 am

I wouldn’t want to run into an ex either. It’s always freaking awkward,no matter how your break-up was.I would’ve stayed in with drinks and a movie too.Liam Neeson is sexiness, and has just the right voice for that movie.

‘They’re going to take you”

53 Penny June 1, 2009 at 2:07 am
54 Holly June 1, 2009 at 12:13 pm

im lovin the new layout! sorry to hear about your nightmare!

55 Hanako66 June 1, 2009 at 2:59 pm

I’ve been messing around with the 3 columns on my other test blog….having a hard go at getting the spacing that I want…such a pain!

I hope that you had a lovely weekend!

56 black vanilla rose June 1, 2009 at 7:26 pm

Oh that sucks. I’ve been lucky and have always lived in different areas and mixed in different groups so havent had to worry about bumping into exs, could imagine it wouldn’t be much fun tip-toeing round them though… come to bris, we’ll show you a good time and you totally won’t need to worry about seeing him xxx

57 Pen Pen June 1, 2009 at 7:48 pm

:) I avoid local stores that are frequented by most people(like Walmart) cuz I fear I’ll see this girl I was “friends” with in high school. She was always clinging to me and putting me down–it was an abusive friendship…She’s aggressive and mean–and I hate confrontation-She’d massacre me.

58 OceanDreams June 3, 2009 at 8:57 am

I just have to say that Taken is an awesome movie. I watched it twice this past weekend. Oh, and seeing the EX or the idea of running into the EX is so not cool. Good choice to divert the scene ahead of time.

59 Meg and Komie June 3, 2009 at 9:04 pm

We have never seen Taken…super want to see it though. Hate having to miss out on stuff because you think you might run into an ex…Ugggghhhh worst thing ever. You def don't need that drama…hope you are feeling better.

Btw, watched the season finale of Grey's FINALLY! You were so right…It's a super duper killer, lol

Congrats on your feature! You so deserve it, about time more people took more notice of your fabulosity =)

Love how you know who Melody Ehsani is and appreciate her stuff like us!!

Xoxo

60 kathleen June 3, 2009 at 10:35 pm
